Southeast Medal Updates – 3 Weeks Away

The countdown is ON.  3 weeks until Southeast Medal Finals!  The entry deadline is TODAY, so be sure to get your entries in and to prepay your stall in order to get the discount ($150 v/s $175).  Prepayment is accepted via check and credit card.  There has been some confusion in regards to the Maclay Regional Entry.  Please be sure to mail your Maclay Regional Entry directly to NATIONAL HORSE SHOW and your SEMF entry to the SEMF Jacksonville address, to reserve your stall.

Peg Seals and Surely Capture the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix at HITS Culpeper on the Last Stop to the Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final

CULPEPER, VA (August 30, 2012) – Peg Seals and Chelsea Ireland’s Surely returned to HITS Culpeper to capture their second victory in the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Prix at the Constitution Classic. Earlier in the summer at the Showday National, Seals and Surely picked up the blue ribbon to become one of Virginia’s top contenders for the second-annual Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final September 7-9, as part of HITS Championship Weekend in Saugerties, New York.

“This is a great class and a great opportunity to win such a large amount of prize money,” said Seals of Virginia Beach, Virginia. “I really enjoyed this class and I’m lucky to be able to ride such a nice horse that’s very competitive at this height.”

The two-round class was designed by Jerry Dougherty of Bokeelia, Florida and Seals was one of many outstanding junior, amateur and professional riders. She, however, posted the top score of 89 in the first round and coupled it with an 86.5 in the second for a total of 175.5 and the win.

Aiken Fall Festival Just a Week Away

August, 30th 2012 – Entries and stall reservations for the 5th annual Aiken Fall Festival horse show close today and with the event being only a week away, preparations are in full swing. The show series is a USEF “A” rated event and will take place in historic Aiken, SC at Highfields Event Center September 6th-9th and 13th-16th. The two-week series is managed by J. P. Godard and his Equus Events, Inc. The highly popular show has become a staple on the fall hunter/jumper calendar. Combined with Aiken’s famous horse community and its eclectic shops and restaurants, it is no wonder why it is has become a favorite stop for many of the top riders and horses in the southeast.

Feature events include a $15,000 Open Jumper Classic each week, The Willcox $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby Friday evening September 7th, and the prestigious South Carolina Hunter Jumper Association Governor’s Cup Medal Finals taking place Sunday morning September 9th. Other features include:

Equestrian Sport Productions Congratulates Winter Equestrian Festival Competitors on Summer Success

Wellington, FL – August 30, 2012 – Equestrian Sport Productions LLC (ESP), the management company of the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF), would like to congratulate all of its international competitors on their great success this summer.

The FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival is a twelve-week horse show circuit held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. The 2013 season runs from January 9 – March 31. The show sees many of the top horses and riders from around the world each winter and has hosted international competitors from 33 nations.

Equestrian Sport Productions President Michael Stone extended his congratulations to all of the competitors. He stated, “Everyone at Equestrian Sport Productions is happy to see that the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival is making such a difference in the ability and success of these top horses and riders. Wellington, FL – August 29 2012 – Olympian Peter Leone will be on hand to personalize his book, Peter Leone’s Show Jumping Clinic: Success Strategies for Equestrian Athletes, and his DVD, Ride the Body: Select Insights of Peter Leone, at the ASPCA Patio at the Hampton Classic on Friday, August 31st from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon and again after the $50,000 Spy Coast Farm/Young Horse Show Series Grand Prix Qualifier.

“The Hampton Classic is always a favorite on the Lionshare Farm horse show calendar and I whole-heartedly support the efforts of the ASPCA. Our love of show jumping was born out of a deep affection for horses. I look forward to seeing friends and helping this great cause that means so much to me personally,” shared Leone, who serves as an official ASPCA Equine Welfare Ambassador.

Friday will be named “ASPCA Equine Ambassador, Peter Leone Day” at the ASPCA Patio at the Hampton Classic. The ASPCA will have Leone’s books and DVDs available for sale all day with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the ASPCA’s horse welfare efforts.

ESP Labor Day Show to Run as Scheduled at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center

Wellington, FL – August 29, 2012 – Equestrian Sport Productions announces that the ESP Labor Day Show, held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), will continue as scheduled on August 31 – September 2, 2012, with adjusted start times on Friday, August 31. Despite 14 inches of rainfall in the Wellington area over the past three days, the PBIEC has drained the water quickly and the footing remains safe and sound.

The ESP Labor Day Show is an “A” rated, 3* Jumper show. On Friday, August 31, the start time for the jumper ring will be moved back to 10 a.m., while the hunter ring will start at 12 p.m. ESP expects the regular start times of 8 a.m. to remain in place for Saturday and Sunday.

ESP show manager David Burton stated, “We are happy with the way the show grounds are draining, now that the water outside the facility is rapidly decreasing.

Louise Serio Captures $10,000 Hallway Feeds Professional Leading Rider Bonus during Final 2012 Hallway Feeds National Hunter Derby

Lexington KY – August 28, 2012 – Lexington KY – August 28, 2012 – The Alltech Arena was filled with top competitors as the final $5,000 Hallway Feeds National Hunter Derby got underway during the KHJA Horse Show. Junior rider Kelli Cruciotti overtook fellow contenders with Promo, moving into the third place overall in the rankings, but falling shy of the Junior Leading Rider Bonus behind Shawn Casady, who took the $2,500 bonus after leading the Junior Ranks for all six derby events, while Sarah Sturges collected the Amateur Leading Rider bonus. Louise Serio was awarded the $10,000 Professional Leading Rider bonus, completing the $45,000 Hallway Feeds National Hunter Derby series with an astounding 1,075 points.

The Hallway Feeds Series consisted of six national hunter derby events that were held during the 2012 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park. Following the final event, cash prizes totaling $15,000 were awarded to the series’ leading riders. The Kentucky Summer Series was held July 24 – Aug. 26, 2012, and featured four of the $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derbies.
