Calgary, Alberta – June 12, 2012 – After successful competitions at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows and the Devon Horse Show, junior rider Abigail McArdle has now traveled to Spruce Meadows, one of the leading international events in the world. During the first week of show, McArdle piloted her top mounts Cosma 20 and Bravoman to excellent finishes in the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers. “The rings at Spruce Meadows are fabulous and my horses have been super consistent,” said McArdle. “It’s been cold and rainy here, but it’s helped because the horses have all stayed really fresh. The courses have been really difficult, and it’s very tough competition. It’s not like any other place where we show; I love being here. It’s such a wonderful experience and every class feels like it is really special.”

McArdle kicked off the week with a fourth place finish in the $5,000 – Gienow 1.40m Junior/Amateur Jumpers aboard Cosma 20, but stepped it up on Friday to finish second in the $10,000 Friends of the Meadows Junior/Amateur Jumpers with a double-clear effort. Saugerties, NY – June 11, 2012 – Olympian Margie Engle and Elm Rock Partners LLC’s Royce continued their domination of HITS-on-the-Hudson this weekend when they claimed their biggest victory to do date during the $100,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix on Sunday. The pair posted a double clear effort to top the 27-horse field, racing to the top of the leader board by almost three seconds during the jump-off.

“Royce is still young, but he just keeps getting better and better,” commented Engle of the eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion. “He’s a very smart horse, and he’s got all the quality and all the jump in the world. The rideability in between the jumps has gotten a lot better in the last month, so I am thrilled with the way he is coming along.”

For the first round of the $100,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix, Engle and Royce showed over a very technical track that included an open water and a difficult triple combination to a tall, skinny vertical. Only five horse and rider combinations advanced to the jump-off, with Engle in the final slot.  She went for broke with the talented stallion, slicing turns and easily leaving each rail intact as the duo broke the beam in 44.717 to earn the winning prize and lead the victory gallop.

GERMANTOWN, TN – JUNE 10, 2012 – At the 64th Annual Germantown Charity Horse Show, Michael Tokaruk of Tennessee was victorious in Saturday’s $25,000 Grand Prix. Tokaruk captured the class aboard his own Lord Byron, marking the 18-year-old gelding’s second victory at Germantown.

In 2005 the team took the blue ribbon to score their first career Grand Prix. And last year, Tokaruk scored a one-two punch in the Grand Prix of Germantown, riding Roger Rabbit, the 11-year-old gelding owned by Castle Point Farm LLC, to the victory gallop while also piloting Lord Byron to the second place ribbon.

In Saturday’s class, held in the Main arena of the Germantown Civic Club Complex, Tokaruk bested 18 other teams for the win, including Andy Kocher aboard the Claudia Billups-owned Puppet Master, David Wright with Imperator, and the week’s Welcome Stakes winner Richard Cheska who rode Quick Tempo.
