Valerie Vizcarrondo (Harwood, MD) and Fernhill Whatever are coming off of a third place finish in the Preliminary Championship at the Morven Park Fall Horse Trials and a fifth place finish in the Plantation Field International Horse Trials CIC1*. She hopes to pilot Greyside LLC’s eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding to another top performance this weekend in the USEF National One-Star Championship.
Selena Pape (Louisville, KY) was the 2011 USEF National Amateur One-Star Champion with her mare Vanity. She hopes to claim back-to-back victories at the Championship with another strong performance from her talented 7-year-old Holsteiner mare. The pair recently won the Preliminary division at the Flying Cross Farm Horse Trials.
Twenty-year-old Elizabeth McGinley (Taylorsville, KY) will ride Vicki Baumgardner’s eight-year-old Thoroughbred gelding Song for the Kaiser in the USEF National 19-to-21-Year-Old One-Star Championship. The pair recently finished third in the Preliminary division at the Jump Start Horse Trials.
Sixteen-year-old Grace Busse (Cedar Rapids, IA) and Exanastasis will contest the USEF National Junior One-Star Championship. After a fifth place finish in the Preliminary division at Roebke’s Run Horse Trials, she hopes to have a strong performance with Michele Busse’s 11-year-old Thoroughbred mare in her first CCI competition.
The competition will begin Friday with dressage starting at 9:30 am ET. Cross Country will take place Saturday beginning at 10:15 am ET, and the competition will finish up Sunday with the Show Jumping at 12:00 pm ET.
