Hillary Dobbs to Celebrate Launch of Dobbs Show Jumping Syndicate at “Champagning” Event to Benefit EQUUS Foundation

Hillary Dobbs, winner of 30+ Grand Prix and youngest rider to earn over $1 Million in career prize money ready to partner with show jumping lovers around the world, with Marengo.

WESTPORT, CT – March 19, 2013 – Hillary Dobbs, international show jumping champion, will host “Champagning”, a cocktail event to celebrate the launch of her Dobbs Show Jumping syndicate on March 28, 2013 in the Gallery at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida. The proceeds of the event will benefit the EQUUS Foundation.

Building upon her success representing the USA in International Nations Cups and Grand Prix, the Harvard University graduate is now poised to partner with strategic investors to build a world class team of show jumping horses for the next phase of her professional career.

Celebrity Stylist Engie Hassan, a Contributing Editor for High Fashion Magazine, will be covering the “Champagning” scene on March 28. Show Jumpers Georgina Bloomberg, Brianne Goutal and Cassie Herman are just a few of the notable members of the Host Committee for the Champagning cocktail event that will include the elite of the Wellington community. Guests will also include Dobbs’ fellow area alumni members of the Harvard Club of the Palm Beaches.

Through the generous support of sponsors that include Roaring Thunder Media, Parlanti USA, Reserveage Organics, First Republic Bank, Dore Designs and Status Luxury Group, guests of “Champagning” will enjoy a wonderful evening of champagne, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the beautiful Gallery venue. “Champagning” will showcase some of the top champagne brands in the world, thanks to event sponsor, Status Luxury Group (SLG), a global concierge and lifestyle management company dedicated to providing the highest quality of personalized service while transcending client expectations.

Along with her success in the Grand Prix ring as a rider, Dobbs is also considered to have a great set of eyes to find and develop horses to train to become world class Show Jumpers. Dobbs Show Jumping plans to offer partners the opportunity to work with Dobbs as she identifies, purchases and trains a select group of horses based upon her past successes with her champion show jumping horses “Quincy B,” “Corlett,” and “Marengo”. The show jumping horses acquired and trained by Dobbs Show Jumping will be ridden by Dobbs as she plans to compete at the highest level in Grand Prixs in the USA and around the world.

When asked about the rationale for launching Dobbs Show Jumping, Hillary Dobbs stated, “As I get ready to enter the next phase of my Show Jumping career, it is my goal to build a world class syndicate to allow all of my supporters through the years to join me as partners to build a talented stable of horses that will allow me to compete in the top Grand Prixs.” Dobbs also added, “As we now start to see higher and higher purses for US Show Jumping, there is a tremendous business opportunity through Dobbs Show Jumping for my partners and me to share in the success of finding the best horses to allow us to continue to compete at the highest level and build a valuable stable of world class show jumpers.”

“We congratulate Hillary on the launch of Dobbs Show Jumping and look forward to her continued success as one of the top Show Jumpers in the world. We greatly appreciate her deep rooted commitment to charitable efforts that not only advance the equestrian sport, but also ensure the well-being of horses and enable the therapeutic use of horses for those with special needs,” said Lynn Coakley, president of EQUUS Foundation.

Gianluca Caron, President and CEO of Parlanti USA, says, “We have been a longtime supporter of Hillary, and are proud to help her launch the next phase of her professional career. We look forward to a continued relationship with Hillary and Dobbs Show Jumping.”

March 8 Fete Cheval Etoile to Feature International Artist Josee Nadeau

Let’s Go Riding by Josee Nadeau.

WESTPORT, CT – March 4, 2013 – Artist Josee Nadeau will create an original painting live at the Fete Cheval Etoile on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Nadeau will perform to the musical tribute by Ki-Juan Minors to celebrate the unveiling of the Horse Stars Hall of Fame, and will donate the painting to be auctioned off later in the evening.

“I am honored to support the EQUUS Foundation which helps so many equine organizations,” said Nadeau. Nadeau’s amazing equine paintings are on display at the Gallery at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center through the end of March. “I was enthralled with Nadeau’s work when I viewed it first hand,” said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President. “Her images of horses truly capture their spirit and the bond between horses and people. We are so thrilled that she will perform live at our event.”

Nadeau was inspired to combine her art with music after a 2000 encounter at the private home of Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil, where George Harrison sang to her for 4 hours.

This past fall Nadeau was the featured artist at two Ralph Lauren stores in the Hamptons, South Hampton and East Hampton.

Nadeau, born in Montreal, and now residing in Utah was the guest painter of esteemed curator Gerald Van der Kemp on the grounds of Impressionist painter Claude Monet’s gardens for a period of 10 years defining her unique artistic skills.

Ki-Juan Minors to Perform a Tribute at EQUUS Foundation “Fete Cheval Etoile”

WESTPORT, CT – February 18, 2013 – Ki-Juan Minors wowed the judges and the energetic crowd of horse lovers at the EQUUS Foundation Equestrian Idol in 2009 and walked away with the grand prize and the title.

Minors will be back on Friday evening, March 8, 2013, to perform at the Fete Cheval Etoile at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) in Wellington, Florida. Born and raised on the Island of Bermuda, Minors is a Professional Equestrian and Singer/Songwriter based in Wellington, Florida. He will perform a tribute to celebrate the unveiling of the new EQUUS Foundation/United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Horse Stars Hall of Fame.

The Fete Cheval Etoile promises to be an unforgettable non-stop evening of entertainment and honors – the Oscars for horses with cocktails in “The Gallery” and dinner in the Wellington Club.

When guests arrive at 6:30 p.m., they will be the first to view the photo gallery of the 62 amazing horses that have been selected for induction into the Hall of Fame.

Guests will sure to be impressed with the “cirque des etoiles” performance, a sensational show by Cirque Vertigo. Following the show, Minors will join the UKI Productions DJ to spur guests onto the dance floor with his awesome musical talent.

“When it comes to horses vs. music,” Minors said, “whichever brings fame to me first is the one I will use to help the other – they both go hand in hand.” “He’s got so much talent,” commented Coakley. “It’s hard to predict which will come first, but surely fame will come to Ki.”

“We are so grateful to our Honorary Committee and the many event sponsors who are attending and supporting this ‘first ever’ event,” said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President.

For some, it will be their first visit to the Winter Equestrian Festival,” said Coakley.

Suzy Stafford Guides Two of Her Equine Partners to the Horse Stars Hall of Fame

Chester County, PA – Gold medalist Suzy Stafford made history in 2005 when she won the first Individual Gold medal at the World Pony Driving Championships for the United States. She has continued to medal at the World Championships in 2007, 2009 and most recently in 2011.

Suzy first graced the International stage driving Cefnoakpark Bouncer, a Welsh Cob owned by the Humphrey family.  Suzy hit American soil with the first Individual Gold medal in Combined Driving for the United States. “It is such an honor for the USEF and Equus to acknowledge such a talented and special pony,” Stafford says.

“It is surreal to have one equine partner recognized in this way, but when you have two ponies in the Hall of Fame, I was speechless!” Stafford replies.

Courage To Lead, a Morgan mare owned by Beverly Lesher, is now retired from competition after taking the driving World by storm with undefeated seasons and an Individual Bronze Medal on her resume. “I had a long competition relationship with this mare and we went through many up and downs together; she will always be ‘my Golden girl’,” Stafford said with a smile.
