The Classic Company has cancelled the Jacksonville Winter Classic scheduled for January 21-25, 2015.

“It is with much regret that I am cancelling the Jacksonville Winter Classic,” said Bob Bell, President of Classic Company. “We have had giant concerns of running a single show after the new facility management could only accommodate only one of our weeks,” said Bell. “That fact, coupled with the improvements scheduled to be made in the footing and the planned addition of schooling rings, made us decide to cancel and re-organize for 2016,” he added. “We are committed to producing a top-quality show and hope that everyone will show with us at the Jacksonville Winter Classic in January 2016,” he said.

The next Classic Company show will be in Pensacola, set to kick off January 7th through the 15th at the Escambia County Fairgrounds. The show is in its fourth year. Riders give it rave reviews and attribute their winter show success to the ‘jump start’ they get in Pensacola along the Gulf of Mexico.

The Classic Company’s philosophy is to offer an event for every level of rider and horse. From Lead line to Olympic level grand prix competition, from seasoned veteran horse and rider team to a first time horse show experience, Classic Company offers competition that provides the competitor substantial prize money, award-winning facilities and courses, quality competition and the best customer service in the industry. Top competition with an emphasis on southern hospitality is a hallmark of The Classic Company.

The Classic Company is a USHJA’s Members Choice Award winner, recognized for producing top quality show jumping events in the United States. Classic Company Announces Inaugural Jacksonville Winter Classic for 2015

The Classic Company is pleased to announce that it will be adding another week to its roster of award winning shows January 21-25, 2015 at the world renowned Jacksonville Equestrian Center in Jacksonville, Florida. “We are excited to be adding the Jacksonville Winter Classic to our schedule and know that the facility and class offerings will draw many of the top riders in the country to the Equestrian Center,” said Bob Bell, President of Classic Company. “In 2015 we will add at least one week, possibly two, and then three or four weeks in 2016,” he added. There are four barns that together offer more than 400 permanent 10′ x 10′ stalls. Barn A has 12 attached wash stalls and the other three barns offer four covered, attached wash stalls. All stalls have water and electric and are well built and maintained with your horse’s comfort and safety as a priority. There are 78 fully equipped RV spots, meandering riding trails and two outside all weather rings plus a warm up ring that complement the spectacular indoor stadium which seats more than 3,000. There are also plans for installing additional outside rings this summer. The Jacksonville Winter Classic will replace the former Jacksonville shows previously held in Green Cove Springs.

“This series has been on SMG’s radar for multiple years. We recognize the quality that Bob [Bell] brings to equestrian events and the positive impact that they have on the communities in which they are held. The City has made a great investment in this facility and it is exciting to anticipate the exposure that Jacksonville will receive from the broader equestrian community,” said Lesa Williams, SMG National Equestrian Director. “We are so proud to be the home of this new circuit. These are the type of quality, nationally recognized events that we strive to bring to our network of Equestrian Facilities,” she added. Bell said, “I’m looking forward to working with SMG and the Equestrian Center staff as we look to grow this Circuit over the years.”

Bob Bell bids farewell to the Southeast Medal Finals

Bob Bell has co-produced the Southeast Medal Finals in conjunction with James Lala for the past two years. “Given the fact that we will be adding another circuit to the Classic Company calendar, adding events to all of our other shows, including the Gulf Coast Winter Classics, and are currently evaluating international show management opportunities, we will no longer be part of the Southeast Medal Finals’ production team,” said Bob Bell, President of the Classic Company and Gulf Coast Classic Company. “The Southeast Medal Finals is a fantastic show and we are proud to have been a part of its inception and first two years. The show continues to grow in popularity and we wish James Lala and his team the best this year,” he added.

“We’re very excited about our new Jacksonville Winter Classic,” commented Lisa Engel, Director of Public Relations, Sponsorship and Marketing. “We anticipate the show to attract more than a thousand competitors heading to the other Florida shows and en route to Pensacola and Gulfport since we will offer AA hunters, jumpers, grand prix and Derbies all at the best indoor stadium in Florida,” she added. “Jacksonville has so much to offer! The Equestrian Center is just miles from world class golf, beaches, downtown concerts, sporting events, shopping and excellent restaurants. The facility offers the indoor stadium which has excellent footing, permanent restrooms, concessions, Wi-Fi and a very nice RV area with water and electric hook ups. There are three outside rings and plans for additional arenas this summer. With its close proximity to the interstate, easy accessibility to the regional airport and Jacksonville International Airport, more than 400 permanent stalls and lodging partners just down the road, the Jacksonville Winter Classic will be the perfect place to show en route to the Gulf Coast Winter Classics in Pensacola and Gulfport.”

“We have already partnered with the Holiday Inn Express and Suites as well as the Fairfield Inn this January,” she added. “We recommend that you secure your rooms as soon as possible because this show is going to be big!” she said.
