USEF Names Land Rover US Eventing Team for Aachen CICO3*

Lexington, Ky. – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has named the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team and Alternate for the Aachen CICO3*, July 14-16, 2016, in Aachen, Germany.

The following athlete-and-horse combinations will compose the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team (in alphabetical order):

Matt Brown (Cochranville, Pa.) and Blossom Creek Foundation’s Super Socks BCF, a 2006 Irish Sport Horse gelding

Hannah Sue Burnett (The Plains, Va.) and Jacqueline Mars’ Harbour Pilot, a 2003 Irish Sport Horse gelding

Phillip Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and David Garrett’s Indian Mill, a 2005 English Thoroughbred gelding

Lauren Kieffer (Middleburg, Va.) and Jacqueline Mars’ Landmark’s Monte Carlo, a 2006 Irish Thoroughbred Cross gelding

The following athlete-and-horse combination has been named as the alternate:

Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (East Sussex, UK) and Deborah Halliday’s HHS Cooley, a 2004 Irish Sport Horse gelding

USEF Announces Fall Eventing Competition Grant Recipients

Lexington, Ky. – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce the recipients of eventing competition grants for Aachen CICO3*, Burghley CCI4*, Blenheim CCI3*, and Boekelo CCIO3*. Grants are awarded based on the USEF grant application process.

The following athlete-and-horse combinations have been awarded, through the USET Foundation, Karen E. Stives Endowment Fund for High Performance Eventing Competition Grants for the Aachen CICO3* to compete as individuals. Aachen CICO3* will take place August 12-14 in Aachen, Germany:

Phillip Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and Thomas Tierney and Simon Roosevelt’s Fernhill Cubalawn, a 2003 Holsteiner gelding

Lauren Kieffer (Ocala, Fla.) and Team Rebecca, LLC’s Veronica, a 2002 Dutch Warmblood mare. This grant includes below mentioned CCI3* Blenheim.

Should the U.S. receive a team invitation, the following athlete-and-horse combinations would join Dutton and Kieffer. Listed in ranked order (depending on the number of invitations):

Lynn Symansky (Middleburg, Va.) and The Donner Syndicate, LLC’s Donner, a 12-year-old Thoroughbred gelding

Marilyn Little (Frederick, Md.) and Team Demeter, LLC’s RF Demeter, a 13-year-old Oldenburg mare

Colleen Rutledge (Frederick, Md.) and her own Covert Rights, a nine-year-old Thoroughbred Cross gelding

The following athlete-and-horse combinations have been awarded the following competition grants for the Burghley CCI4*, taking place September 3-6 in Burghley, Great Britain:

Lynn Symansky (Middleburg, Va.) and The Donner Syndicate, LLC’s Donner, a 12-year-old Thoroughbred gelding. Symansky has been awarded a Land Rover USEF Competition Grant.

Colleen Rutledge (Frederick, Md.) and her own Covert Rights, a nine-year-old Thoroughbred Cross gelding. Rutledge has been awarded a Jacqueline B. Mars Competition Grant, through the USET Foundation.

Lauren Kieffer (Ocala, Fla.) and Team Rebecca, LLC’s Veronica, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare. This competition is included in the aforementioned Karen E. Stives Endowment Fund for High Performance Eventing Competition Grant, through the USET Foundation.

Will Coleman and The Four Star Eventing Group’s OBOS O’Reilly, a 2003 Irish Sport Horse gelding. Coleman has been awarded a Land Rover USEF Competition Grant.

Matt Brown and the Blossom Creek Foundation’s Super Socks BCF, a 2006 Irish Sport Horse gelding. Brown has been awarded a Jacqueline B. Mars Competition Grant, through the USET Foundation.

Elisa Wallace and David and Jill Hopcroft’s Simply Priceless, a 2001 Thoroughbred gelding. Wallace has been awarded a Land Rover USEF Competition Grant.

Emily Beshear and Deep Purple Eventing’s Shame On The Moon, a 2006 Trakehner/Thoroughbred mare. Beshear has been awarded a Land Rover USEF Competition Grant.*

Matt Brown (Petaluma, Calif.) and the Blossom Creek Foundation’s BCF Belicoso, a 2006 Irish Sport Horse gelding

Land Rover US Eventing Team Looks for Victory in Aachen CICO3* Debut

Lexington, KY – The Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team heads to a mecca of horse sport this week to compete at the Aachen CICO3* for the first time. Eventing competition will be held over two days, June 28-29, at the prestigious German venue which hosted the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games. On Friday competitors will perform their dressage tests early in the day before heading to the Main Stadium in the evening for the show jumping phase. Following the conclusion of Saturday’s cross country Team and Individual honors will be awarded.

The United States will be represented by four formidable combinations looking to showcase the form that has earned them top placings and accolades throughout the 2013 season. Clark Montgomery , Tiana Coudray, Marilyn Little and Will Faudree have all received Land Rover Competition Grants to compete against many of the best in the world in Aachen.

Montgomery (Wiltshire, UK) has been based in the UK since the end of last year and has already found success. With his Aachen partner, Jessica Montgomery, Carole Montgomery, Janet Higgins, and Elizabeth Smith’s Universe, he collected a seventh place finish at the Belton CIC3*. In May, they completed the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in 27th place in the horses first attempt at the CCI4* level.

Coudray (Ojai, CA) brings her 2012 Olympic Games partner Jatial Inc.’s Ringwood Magister to the Aachen CICO3* this week. The British-based combination, known for their proficiency in the first phase, completed their first Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in May in 17th place.

Little (Frederick, MD) is utilizing a Land Rover Competition Grant for a second time this week in Aachen. In May, she competed in France at the Saumur CCI3* finishing in eighth place with Raylyn Farms Inc. and Phoebe and Michael Manders’ RF Smoke on the Water. Little will again ride the talented gelding in Aachen and look to display the form that earned them the 2012 USEF National CCI3* Eventing Reserve Championship.

Faudree (Hoffman, NC) has been on a tear in 2013 collecting top placings on U.S. soil and abroad with Jennifer Mosing’s talented string of horses. In Aachen, he will ride Mosing’s 2012 Plantation Field International CIC3* winner Pawlow. In April, the pair completed the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Land Rover for the second time, finishing in sixth place.

This is Faudree’s second Land Rover Competition Grant funded trip to Europe in 2013. In May, he also competed in Saumur with Mosing’s Andromaque finishing in fifth at the CCI3*.

Montgomery will be the first competitor down centerline at 8:30am CEST, Coudray will follow at 10:03am CEST, and Little will perform her test at 11:52am CEST. Faudree will anchor the team and head into the arena at 2:07pm CEST.
