Wellington, Florida (January 19, 2016) – International dressage rider Mette Rosencrantz has traveled cross-country to compete two talented horses in South Florida during the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, with the goal of posting scores high enough to earn her the chance to compete in the European circuit next summer. While in Wellington, Florida, the California-based rider is showing her own primary competition horse, Marron. Rosencrantz has owned the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Michellino x Manoela, Woernitz) for just over a year, and has competed him successfully in CDIs in California. She is also showing Acilla, Anne Solbraekke’s Small Tour horse, in Florida. Rosencrantz and Acilla, a 2005 Dutch Warmblood mare (Florencio x Callas), won the Intermediaire I class at the Dressage Holiday Special in California before traveling to Florida for the season. Custom Saddlery, the Official Saddle of the U.S. Dressage Team and Rosencrantz’s sponsor, is excited to cheer her on throughout this season’s celebrated competition series.

“I’m hoping to ride well enough to have good scores and a good feel to my rides. I especially hope to score high enough to travel to Europe,” Rosencrantz said. “In Europe, there are so many good options for high performance riders, whether you’re aiming for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio or not. With so many options available, you can’t just sit home and not get out there and try it!”

Rosencrantz traveled to Florida to compete because of the number of CDIs offered during the winter show season there. “I think it’s fun to come out here to Florida,” she said. “The competition has grown and there are a lot of great riders. There are so many coming to Florida from other parts of America or in Europe, and the footing is really good at the Global Dressage Festival show grounds. I think it’s fun to be here, and inspiring. You have the top of the game here – a lot of nice people, good horses, good riders, and many great trainers.”

As Rosencrantz and Marron are going down centerline in the Grand Prix against a strong field of some of the world’s top international competitors at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, they will be in a Custom Saddlery saddle every step of the way.

“I always ride in Custom Saddles and have done so for many, many years,” Rosencrantz said, adding that she rides Marron in the Icon Flight model and Acilla in the Icon Star model. “I think that over the years, Custom Saddlery has made things better by developing new models of different types with different leather. With Custom Saddles, you can always find something that works for you. Instead of being exactly the same, you can find a saddle that fits each human body and each horse. I’m really a big fan of Custom Saddles.”

As one of Custom Saddlery’s Most Valuable Riders (MVRs), Rosencrantz believes in the brand and knows that quality tack and equipment are essential to her sport. So do other top dressage riders who seek the best in fit and comfort for themselves and their horses. Steffen Peters, Patrik Kittel, Juan Matute Guimon, and Heather Blitz are just a few of the many other Custom Saddlery MVRs from around the world. Custom Saddlery provides professional saddle fitting services with expert saddle fitters located across the United States and internationally, and the company manufactures other top-quality accessories including stirrup leathers, girths and saddle pads, as well.
