East Aurora, NY – June 14, 2011 – Junior rider Charlotte Jacobs continued her winning ways this past weekend at HITS Saugerties during Week III of the prestigious event. After a very impressive showing at the Devon Horse Show, she scored victories in the Junior Hunters, the WIHS Equitation, and the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers with her talented string of horses.

In the hunter ring, Jacobs and her top mount Bring It On took home the Large Junior 15 & Under Hunter Championship. The duo won two classes, including the handy, and also earned two second place ribbons and a third place ribbon to secure the division’s top prize. “Bring It On had a week off between Saugerties and Devon,” explained Jacobs. “I think that helped, he felt great and he went perfectly.”

Later in the jumper ring, Jacobs scored top ribbons with three of her mounts. She was aboard Karonda V Schl’hof CH to earn the winning prize in two of the High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper classes, and later placed second with a double clear effort in the High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic aboard Umberto. In the Medium Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers, Jacobs scored a second place ribbon with Robin.

“Karonda V Schl’hof CH has really been going amazing,” said Jacobs. “She won at Devon and then won again at Saugerties. She’s a small horse so you really have to gallop and rev her up, because if you go too slow she can have trouble getting across the oxers. She was great though and I was really happy with her.

Jacobs added, “Umberto is the only horse I showed in the Classic because of the rain. He’s a new horse and I am still trying to get the hang of him, but he’s very special. He’s super careful, so if you get too deep he’s just going to jump higher.”

After winning the Ronnie Mutch Equitation Championship at the Devon Horse Show just two weeks ago, Jacobs continued her domination of the equitation ring by taking home the top call in the WIHS Equitation Hunter Phase. She piloted Stallone VDL to the first place prize in the hunter phase and the third place honors in the jumper phase to be awarded the third place honors overall.

“Stallone VDL is an awesome horse,” noted Jacobs. “In the hunter phase he goes like a hunter, he goes slow and he jumps pretty, so he shows off and helps me out a bit. He was so good in the jumper phase too, so I was very happy with him.”

Later this month, Jacobs will travel to the Lake Placid Horse Shows as she continues to compete under the excellent tutelage of Missy Clark and John Brennan from North Run. This year, Jacobs competed during the European Youngsters Cup Competition in Leipzig, Germany, and was the Junior Jumper Champion at the Devon Horse Show, as well as the winner of the Ronnie Mutch Equitation Championship. She competes for North Star Ventures of East Aurora, New York.
