Wellington, FL (January 13, 2016) – “I believe that our whole sport is predicated on our young riders,” stated Beth Haist, CEO of The Horse of Course, Inc., a popular full-service tack shop. The Horse of Course was elated to once again sponsor the Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic and help make this incredible educational opportunity possible for junior and young riders. The Claremore, Oklahoma based company is a founding sponsor of the Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic, now in its fifth consecutive year. The Horse of Course gladly supplied jackets and vests for all clinic attendees and family members.

The 2016 Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic, held on January 5-9 at the VanKampen Arena at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival show grounds in Wellington, Florida, provided participants and auditors with ample opportunity to listen and learn from top professionals. Clinic participants started each day with a fitness routine, followed by riding lessons and educational presentations from professionals across all facets of the equestrian sport. Riders had the exclusive opportunity to train with dressage icons Robert Dover, Steffen Peters, Laura Graves, Charlotte Bredahl-Baker, and George Williams.

Attendees also enjoyed a string of presentations throughout the week given by a range of top industry leaders. Topics included conquering the transition from Young Rider to dressage Professional, improving scores, conducting interviews at competitions, the ideal saddle fit, and understanding equine locomotion and biomechanics.

“We must support our young riders, or we have nothing going forward,” Haist said, explaining the importance of developing America’s junior and young riders. “I have been involved with supporting young riders for twenty years now. I have a wall of photos in my store of all the young rider teams that I have supported over the years. It is amazing to see now that they are almost all professionals in the sport,” she reflected.

After the 2016 Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic, The Horse of Course is launching straight into another way of giving back to the dressage community. The tack business is a sponsor of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, which takes place in Wellington directly after the Horsemastership Clinic. Throughout the twelve-week show series, The Horse of Course will be rewarding spectacular performances with The Horse of Course High Score Award and providing all the equipment and apparel that competitors need through its mobile tack shop.
