Brown Finishes Fifth at Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event with Happenstance

Allentown, N.J. – The Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event concluded Sunday with CCI3* and CCI2* competitors completing the show jumping phase of competition. Buck Davidson and Carl and Cassandra Segal’s Ballynoe Castle RM held the lead all three days to take home the three-star title with a final score of 41.6. Michael Pollard and Cyrano Z also led the field through all three phases of two-star competition, winning with a score of 36.9.

Matt Brown (Petaluma, Calif.) and Mary McKee’s 2006 Holsteiner gelding, Happenstance, had an excellent round with just one rail down and a time fault, giving them a total score of 52.7 to maintain fifth place. Happenstance is a USEF Land Rover Competition Grant recipient competing in his first CCI3*. Brown also placed 10th with BCF Belicoso.

Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event Includes Para-Dressage Demonstration

Allentown, NJ – May 9, 2015 – The 13th Annual 2015 Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event, presented by B. W. Furlong & Associates, will include a Para-Dressage demonstration and appearances from international Para-Dressage athletes. The demonstration will occur on May 10, at approximately 12 PM. Para-Dressage riders include 2014 USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage Reserve Champion Margaret McIntosh, World Equestrian Games athlete and Young Rider Sydney Collier, Six-Time National Champion, two-time World Equestrian Games athlete, and Paralympian Rebecca Hart, Para-Dressage rider Elle Wooley, and international athlete Ellie Brimmer. The Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event takes place May 6-10, 2015 at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown, NJ. The United States Para-Equestrian Association and these athletes will be on hand to not only showcase their riding but to answer questions about Para-Dressage.

Margaret McIntosh noted, “Sydney is one of the most hard-working and enthusiastic riders competing today. I am proud to have her represent Para-Dressage to my friends in the Eventing community. Thank you so much to Jane Cory and the Horse Park committee for highlighting the Para Equestrian discipline at this year’s Jersey Fresh Horse Trials.”

The Jersey Fresh International (JFI) Three-Day Event includes Dressage, Cross-Country and Show Jumping. Each year, JFI hosts more than 100 competitors from around the world. Jersey Fresh International is a truly exciting and family-friendly way to spend a spring day or weekend amidst some of New Jersey’s most beautiful farm country. The Horse Park of New Jersey is a premier equestrian venue that draws the sport’s top competitors. In the past JFI has helped determine both United States and Canadian Olympic and World Equestrian Games Teams, and this year will be a qualifying selection trials for the United States’ Pan American Games Eventing Team.

USEF Announces Spring Land Rover Eventing Competition Grant Recipients

Lexington, Ky. – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the USEF Land Rover Competition Grants for the spring of 2015.

The following athlete-and-horse combinations have been awarded a USEF Land Rover Competition Grant to compete at the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event CCI3*, May 6-10, 2015 in Allentown, N.J.

Super Socks BCF is a 2006 Irish Sport Horse gelding.
Happenstance is a 2006 Holsteiner gelding.

HHS Cooley is a 2004 Irish Sport Horse gelding.

The following athlete-and-horse combination has been awarded a USEF Land Rover Competition Grant to compete at the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials CCI3*, June 11-14, 2015 in West Yorkshire, England.

USEF Land Rover Competition Grants for the Luhmühlen CCI4* will be allocated following the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Land Rover.
