Motivation from Moshi 55, by Jane Savoie

I’ve been dreaming of Vermont. Lots of trees, cool nights and warm days. Big fields for Indy and me to explore, and new videos to make with Jane and Rhett. I love Vermont. We’ll be heading that way soon.

I’m going to miss my friends here in Florida, but I know I’ll be back and so will they. Next fall, we’ll have new stories to share, and new goals to achieve. In the mean time, we’ll concentrate on the work at hand and know that all is well.

Change is not easy for most people and most horses. We all like predictability and security. But with change comes the opportunity for growth. When change happens, it forces us to flex our mental muscles and learn to adapt. It is a GOOD thing, even when it’s a bit uncomfortable.

Do you have changes happening in your life right now that are uncomfortable? Many of us do. But you can learn to deal with it by looking for all the good things that are a result of those changes. It takes some mental focus, but you can do it!

What’s the best thing about the changes happening in your life, right now? Mine is finding new spring grass to eat! YUM!

Love, Moshi

I was going to bury a bone that I found, but I left it in the yard and someone else found it and took it away. I was also going to take home a ball I found in the grass at the barn, but figured I’d get it later. Now I can’t find it.

I hear people talking about getting their taxes done, and wishing they’d been keeping their books updated all year so it’s not such a big job at tax time. Makes me glad I’m a dog and not responsible for all that paperwork!

Procrastination can really cause a fellow fits. It’s so much easier to put things off than stick with the task and get them done. Learning to finish what you know needs to be completed, even if you don’t feel like it, not only prevents stress, it can be very empowering. It’s a great habit to develop, and it feels SO good to get the job done! All it takes is making the decision and then applying some determination. And I know you have lots of that!

So, if you have something you know needs to get done, but you’ve been putting it off, how about starting it today? Won’t it feel good to have it DONE? Tell you what. I’ll remind you to finish that project you started last week, if you’ll help me find that ball in the grass!

Love, Indy
