Lausanne (SUI), 13 May 2014 – The FEI Bureau has set 1 September 2014 at 23.59 CEST (local time in Lausanne) as the deadline for submission of candidacies for the position of FEI President. The application process starts today (13 May), following the decision taken during the Bureau’s monthly teleconference.

Candidates are requested to send a motivation letter and a completed FEI curriculum vitae form, signed off by the candidate’s National Federation, to the FEI Secretary General.

Additionally, and in order to align the application process, the Bureau has extended the deadline for all other open positions on the FEI Bureau and Technical Committees, with the exception of the Athletes Committee, until 1 September.

The FEI Nominations Committee will vet all received applications during its meeting in Lausanne on 11 September 2014.

The 1 June 2014 23.59 CEST deadline for the FEI Athletes Committee elections remains unchanged.

The Bureau has also changed the venue for the FEI General Assembly 2014 from Dubai (UAE) to Baku (AZE) in order to avoid holding the presidential election in the country of a potential candidate. The Bureau expressed its thanks to the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan for their invitation and kind cooperation. The dates for the General Assembly, 11-14 December, remain unchanged. The election of the FEI President by the General Assembly will take place on 14 December.

An official communication on the election procedures will be provided to National Federations shortly.
