New at Southeast Medal Finals – EMO Equitation Championship

Jacksonville, FL – August 28, 2013 – The Southeast Medal Finals received high praise following the show’s inaugural year in 2012, and this year Southeast Medal Finals management is pleased to announce the addition of new and exciting classes, divisions and finals. Among this year’s added highlights is the EMO Equitation Championship, presented by The EMO Agency, Inc. The EMO Championship will be held on Friday, September 20, during this year’s show, running September 19-22, 2013.

The popular show, held at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center, attracts some of the country’s top junior riders and trainers, and this year juniors are invited to enter the EMO Equitation Championship. Riders competing in the EMO Championship will be judged over 3’3″ fences and scored numerically. At the judge’s discretion, riders may be called back for a second round of testing.

In addition to the EMO Championship, show management is also excited to have added the $25,000 Land Rover of Jacksonville Grand Prix, as well as the Developing Sport Horse Division sponsored by Team Rakowsky. This new division is inspired by European-style classes in which the horses are judged on their athletic potential to be top contenders in the future of the sport. Horses in the Developing Sport Horse classes will be judged on style, presentation, rideability and their potential to eventually compete at the grand prix level.

“Speaking for all of us involved with The Southeast Medal Finals, and thanks to Land Rover of Jacksonville, EMO, Team Rakowsky and all our sponsors, we’re extremely excited to be able to offer these new classes and divisions,” said James Lala, who has partnered with Bob Bell and Classic Company to bring together this year’s Southeast Medal Finals. “Especially with these new offerings, we’re able to provide top of the line competition for everyone.”
