Tickets Go on Sale for Royal Windsor Horse Show 2016

Tickets are now on sale for the UK’s largest outdoor equestrian show, Royal Windsor Horse Show, which will take place from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 May 2016, in the stunning grounds of Windsor Castle.

After last year’s roaring success, which saw record crowds flock to the five-day event to watch world-class competitions and phenomenal displays, the show has further enhanced its status by becoming a 4* international jumping event.

This exciting news also coincides with the announcement that during the evenings of Royal Windsor Horse Show, the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations will take place from 12-15 May. Visitors to Royal Windsor Horse Show will get the exclusive opportunity to see many of the global acts, such as The Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos, New Zealand Army Band, South Australian Police Band, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and The Household Cavalry, performing their full routines during the day.

Royal Windsor is a highlight of the British equestrian calendar and marks the start to the busy summer show season. The prestigious show is set in the beautiful private grounds of Windsor Castle, the only time of year they are accessible to the public, and has been attended by HM The Queen, who is also Patron to Royal Windsor, every year since it began in 1944.

Next year, the jam-packed horse show will host international competitions in Show Jumping (CSI1* and CSI4*), Carriage Driving (Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix), Endurance (CEI1*) and National Dressage, plus over 120 showing classes and outstanding equestrian displays. Other highlights include performances from The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, The Shetland Pony Grand National, DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games as well as being able to enjoy international displays from the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration. In addition, there will be a shopping village with over 220 shops selling all things from equestrian goods to homeware and much sought after fashion brands as well as other delights such as pop-up restaurants, bars, cafes and food stalls throughout the site.

Once again, Royal Windsor Horse Show organisers are delighted to offer free admission to all visitors on the opening day of the show on Wednesday 11 May, and offer tickets free of charge to children on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 May. The remaining ticket prices for 2016 are as follows: Thursday 12 May the admission fee for adults will be £16.00 and on Friday 13 May it will be £20.00. On Saturday 14 May and Sunday 15 May showground entry will be £25.00 for adults and £10.00 for children. There are discounts for group bookings and family value tickets for two adults and three children for £50 on either Saturday or Sunday.

For those seeking a more exclusive experience at Royal Windsor, membership packages are now also available to purchase and will include access to the Members Enclosure, which has seating near to the Royal Box, a Members restaurant, bar and terrace which all overlook the main Castle Arena.

Royal Windsor Horse Show

The Show will take place from 11-15 May 2016. Over 40,000 visitors are expected to attend the 74th year of Royal Windsor Horse Show which offers its audience astounding displays in the main Castle Arena, such as The Musical Ride from the Household Calvary Mounted Regiment the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games and The Shetland Pony Grand National. As well as the equestrian competitions and activities, there are over 200 shops in the Shopping Village, with a wide range of goods for sale, from jewellery and fashion, to food and drink. Her Majesty The Queen has attended every year since it started in 1944 and it is the only time of the year that the private grounds of Windsor Castle are open to the public. The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration

Due to The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration taking place in the evenings following the Horse Show, there will be no evening performances at Royal Windsor Horse Show this year. These will return for 2017. The Horse Show will be ending at about 6pm each day.

Royal Windsor Horse Show tickets do not include access to The Queen’s Birthday Celebration and there will be nowhere to watch the performance without the Celebration ticket.
