In Memoriam: Gen. Samy Negm El Din (EGY)
Lausanne, 6 December 2010 – Gen. Samy Negm El Din of Egypt, FEI official in Jumping and technical consultant to the Omani National Federation, passed away on 4 December 2010 aged 64.
Gen. Samy Negm El Din was a graduate in law and retired as a general from the police force of his home country, Egypt, in 1995. From 2000 to 2001 he served as a board member of the Egypt Equestrian Federation and was a technical consultant to the Omani National Federation until his sudden death.
Gen. Samy Negm El Din was a member of the FEI World Cup Jumping Arab League Sub-Committee and was instrumental in the organisation of many international events in Jumping and Tent Pegging in the region. He played a key role in setting up the international Tent Pegging committee in 2008.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid Chairman of Group VII said, “Gen. Samy was seen by the National Federations of the Arabian Region as one of their greatest bridges to the FEI, and he loved the organisation, and all it stood for. We are all deeply distressed and saddened by his passing, but we will strive to remember him through our work in the region.”
FEI President HRH Princess Haya said, “Gen. Samy will always be remembered as one of the greatest ambassadors the Arab Region has ever had in the International Equestrian Community, his quiet diplomacy and quick wit will fondly be remembered. He was a pillar in the development of the sport in our region, working quietly and never seeking recognition. He was a man without borders in the Arab world as he used the language of horsemen, serving many of our NFs, and disciplines. He was loved by all.”
Our sincerest condolences go to Gen. Samy Negm El Din’s family, to the Egyptian and Omani National Federations, and to the equestrian community of the region.

It is a very sad day to know that the real friend Gen. Samy Negem El Din passed away…..it is to early for Samy absent.
All officials of our region was under his wings he always worked for them and for their interests and career.
We have lost the second father warm care , the big brother and a very important person in our region who loves our lovely sport more than the real love and who spoke on behave of us in the right way.
We will remember Samy for ever as a second Father , as a teacher , as a very real and closed friend and as a man which we cry for his absent.
We ask Allah to bless Gen Samy Negm El Din and to give him the best second life.
Great and sincerest condolence to Mrs. Faokia and Angie , all Gen. Samy Family, all his friends , Oman NF , Egypt NF and FEI.

The body of Gen Samy has passed away , but his soul will remain with his friends forever , and about what the FEI president says about Gen. Samy in the FEI Press News ,this is in my opinion is a most for a man like him .
Again , may his soul rest in peace .
