Steinberg Steps Down as USEF Youth Dressage Coach

Lexington, Ky. – Jeremy Steinberg who has served as the USEF Youth Dressage Coach since 2011 has announced he will be stepping down from the position.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with everyone over the last three years and I will miss working with the youth of the U.S. more than words can express,” said Steinberg. “I would like to be spending more time at home riding and training myself and continue to push to one day make a U.S. team myself.”

In addition to his role as USEF Youth Dressage Coach at major championships and competitions, Steinberg worked in concert with the USEF Dressage Committee overseeing and assisting with development of the youth dressage programs.

“We thank Jeremy for everything he has done for our Dressage Youth athletes and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” said Jenny Van Wieren-Page, USEF Managing Director of Dressage.

Second USEF Elite Youth Dressage Training Session Concludes at W Farms

Lexington, KY – The second and final USEF Elite Youth Dressage Training Session for 2012 concluded Sunday in Chino Hills, California. The two-day intensive training session was made possible by a generous donation from Kristen McDonald and the Marquis George MacDonald Foundation. The gracious hosts of the Western U.S. session were David and Alisa Wilson, owners of W Farms.

The invitation-only training session served as an opportunity for top youth riders from the Western U.S. to work directly with USEF Youth Dressage Coach Jeremy Steinberg to fine tune their riding skills and also discuss long term strategic planning, media training, championship selection procedures and rules. Each rider’s personal trainer attended the session, as well.

“With the donation from Kristen McDonald and the Marquis George MacDonald Foundation and the generous support offered by our host sites, Shannondale Farm [site of the Eastern and Central training session] and W Farms, I was able to spend a weekend concentrating on aspects of training and planning with some of our country’s most promising youth riders,” said Steinberg. “It was wonderful to have the majority of the trainers, parents and support systems present for the sessions. Their involvement, along with rider dedication, is a key to the transition to high performance.”

Rebecca Cohen and Downtown Participate in USEF Elite Young Dressage Training Sessions

Wellington, FL (October 30, 2012) – Sixteen-year-old Rebecca Cohen and her 17.2 Westphalian gelding Downtown were part of an elite group of young dressage stars selected to participate in the first United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Elite Young Dressage Training Session in Alpharetta, Georgia.  The first two-day training session, made possible by a generous donation from Kristen McDonald and the Marquis George MacDonald Foundation, was led by USEF Dressage Youth Coach Jeremy Steinberg. The invitation-only session included Cohen and seven other top youth dressage riders from the East and Central U.S., and was an opportunity for Steinberg to work directly with a core group of promising riders. The training session included two days of instruction as well as lectures and discussions on long term strategic planning, media training, championship selection procedures, and USEF rules. Young riders in the western United States will also have a chance to benefit from Steinburg’s knowledge as the west coast second session of the Elite Young Dressage Training Session will take place November 3-4, at W Farms in Chino Hills, California.
