W. Springfield, MA (December 23, 2011) – Fans at the 2011 Massachusetts Equine Affaire were on their feet at the Pfizer Fantasia musical equine celebration thanks to a thrilling performance by two talented and stunning Interagro Lusitanos.  International rider and trainer Cherri Reiber presented a tandem demonstration at the Equine Affaire that showcased the magnificent Lusitano breed and their talent for performing upper level dressage movements.

Interagro Lusitanos also had a booth at the premier equestrian gathering, and thanks to Reiber’s exciting demonstration the booth was the place to be as Equine Affaire attendees swarmed it to learn more about the Interagro Lusitano. “Cherri’s demonstration was a huge crowd pleaser and certainly generated a lot of excitement that spilled over to our booth,” said Cecilia Gonzaga, Manager of Interagro Lusitanos in Brazil.

Reiber is an FEI level dressage trainer and rider who trained both horses, Zerbino Interagro and Vistor Interagro, to do the tandem driving.  Reiber, who is based out of Southwest Ranches, Florida, competes on the Wellington show circuit and in 1999 was named the State Line Tack/USET Grand Prix Champion with her horse G Tudor.  Reiber and G Tudor also attended the 2000 World Cup Dressage Final in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Reiber’s crowd-pleasing tandem driving features Reiber riding one horse while driving another in front, showing off upper level movements including the piaffe, passage, flying changes and the spectacular Spanish walk. Reiber’s tandem driving was part of the equine musical revue, the Pfizer Fantasia, which featured a star-studded lineup of professional equestrian performers and exceptional horses choreographed to musical styles ranging from traditional and country to classical and contemporary.

“The Lusitano is a much-loved breed and the fans really responded to their talent during the musical revue,” Gonzaga said. “We also had a great turnout at the Interagro Lusitano booth where everyone learned about our farm’s history, Interagro’s mission and they were able to check out horses we were highlighting.”

The Interagro Lusitano booth at the Equine Affaire also focused on the commitment of the Gonzaga family to the Lusitano breed as well as the history of Interagro, located near São Paulo in Brazil. The Interagro horse is a modern Lusitano, a horse that excels in the traditional equestrian disciplines, from dressage and driving to jumping and working equitation. Interagro is committed to preserving the pure bloodlines of the Lusitano breed and the farm in Brazil is home to approximately 700 horses including 150 exceptional broodmares and 25 top quality stallions.

Interagro bloodlines include some of the most respected bloodlines in the breed including Farao (JHC), Nirvana Interagro, Ofensor (MV), Xique-Xique (CI) and Yacht (SA). Interagro Lusitanos also offers private buying trips to their Brazilian farm, where visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at Interagro and their selection of Lusitanos that will be available in the upcoming 2012 Lusitano Collection International Horse Auction held at the farm in Brazil. Attendees will experience the culture and lifestyle of Interagro before bidding on one of the exceptional horses.

Interagro has recently begun offering private visits to the Brazilian farm with Sales Director, Mr. Peter van Borst. Each prospective buyer gets to experience Interagro in a unique way; from riding and driving the horses, learning the history of the farm, experiencing the Brazilian culture and food to appreciating the warmth and dedication that the Gonzaga family has for their horses, home, and country.
