Custom Saddlery Sponsors Dressage Rider and WEG Competitor Tina Konyot

Tina Konyot, who represented the United States at the 2010 World Equestrian Games, rides her Dutch stallion, Calecto V, in the unique Icon Coda Mono Flap Dressage Saddle from Custom Saddlery.

Wellington, FL (December 16, 2010) – Custom Saddlery, makers of handcrafted custom-fit dressage, jumping and event saddles, is proud to announce they are sponsoring dressage rider Tina Konyot. Known for being a gifted rider, teacher and trainer, Konyot represented the United States at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games aboard her stallion Calecto V.

While talent, hard work and dedication are all part of Konyot’s winning style, her style also includes riding in a dressage saddle from Custom Saddlery. “Tina is riding in our Icon Coda Mono Flap Dressage Saddle,” said Cary Wallace, President and Master Saddle Fitter at Custom Saddlery. “The mono flap is unique and gives the rider very close contact with their horse. Tina will find she has increased communication through her seat due to our revolutionary tree.”

Wallace said the saddle is custom fit for Calecto V, and it features the Polyflex Tree that gives the ultimate flexibility for the horse. “The Polyflex Tree will also give Tina comfort and stability as well as increased flexibility and movement with Calecto,” he said.

Konyot, who is currently preparing for the 2011 winter dressage season in Florida, is one of many world-class dressage riders enjoying the unique design of the Icon Coda saddle. “The saddle is thin and lightweight with no outside flap which means there is less leather under Tina’s leg,” Wallace said. “Not many companies are making this design and we are pleased to say that many of our rider’s are thrilled with the design and won’t ride in anything else.”

Custom Saddlery, an official sponsor of the United States Dressage Federation, is endorsed by some of the finest riders in the world including Steffen Peters who also represented the United States at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky this fall, along with Konyot. “We are thrilled to have Tina join our accomplished list of dressage riders,” Wallace said. “Tina is a truly gifted rider and a joy to watch. She is also an expert horsewoman and understands the importance of a properly fitting saddle, which is what Custom Saddlery also believes in.”

Wallace said that Custom Saddlery strongly encourages all riders to make sure their saddles fit correctly. “Whether you ride dressage, or any other discipline, the saddle needs to fit the horse and rider, not just the rider,” Wallace said. “All of our saddles are anatomically designed for this purpose and hand-crafted from the finest leathers. We don’t have tree sizes on our custom fitted saddles. Whatever the horse’s build, it dictates the tree size.”
