Springfield, MA (December 5, 2012) – International show jumping veteran Todd Minikus of Loxahatchee, Florida conducted four highly successful clinics over two days at the 46th Equine Affaire in Springfield, Massachusetts which ran November 8 to 12, 2012. Following his time in the ring on Friday and Saturday, Minikus headed up to the Vita Flex Booth for a “Meet & Greet” where he signed autographs for fans and chatted with attendees.

Minikus, who has won over 75 Grand Prix show jumping events to date, was part of the “Ride with the Best Program,” which offers clinics for various levels and disciplines throughout the popular equestrian event.  Known not only for his own riding talent but for his skill as an educator, Minikus employed a variety of proven theories, supplemental training techniques and show jumping exercises that benefited both the riders and the thousands of equestrian enthusiasts auditing from the stands.

During each group, Minikus addressed different challenges offering simple, progressive methods to assist riders and horses with their training programs and realize their goals. Over the two days, Minikus worked on everything from gymnastics to improve a horse’s jumping technique and help a rider’s position to strategies to prepare and improve performances in the jump off.  For the advanced group of riders working over fences set at 4 foot and above, Minikus put them through a series of exercises to help improve and strengthen their riding and their horses’ performance for higher-level show jumping competitions.

“Todd’s clinics were very well received and attended,” said Tanner Clark, Brand Manager for Vita Flex Nutrition Brand Manager.  “Both the riders in the clinics and the audience were able to learn from Todd.”

Minikus, who is a member of the Vita Flex Team of world-class riders, has competed in five FEI World Cup Show Jumping Finals and ridden on six Nations Cup Teams. Grand Prix highlights include victories in the $100,000 Budweiser American Invitational, the $100,000 Rolex USET Show Jumping Championship, the $75,000 Nespresso Grand Prix, winning the American Grand Prix Association Budweiser Grand Prix of Indianapolis five times as well as being the alternate for the 2000 Olympic Show Jumping Team in Sydney, Australia. In addition to riding horses, when he has “spare time” Minikus enjoys riding bulls!
