Dorum, Germany – June 16, 2015 – Damsey FRH proved he is back in the game after a long break from competition with outstanding performances at the Redefin horse festival in early May. Now, his great effort in his return has earned him a place on the German dressage team for the Rotterdam Nations Cup CDIO5* June 18-21, a rare feat for a horse under American ownership.

The 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Dressage Royal-Ria Grande, Ritual) is owned by Leatherdale Farms, based in Long Lake, Minnesota. He stands at Hengststation Jens Meyer in Dorum, Germany and has had a highly successful breeding career to date.

“It is very special to have an American-owned horse representing Germany in dressage,” Doug Leatherdale of Leatherdale Farms said. “We couldn’t be more excited about this.”

Damsey FRH made his international dressage debut in 2013, competing with Frahm at the Wiesbaden CDI4*, Rotterdam CDI3* and Lingen CDI4*.

The Rotterdam Nations Cup will be Frahm’s first team appearance for Germany, which currently leads the Nations Cup standings with 17 points to the United States’ 10. Frahm will join teammates Bernadette Brune, Sönke Rothenberger and Kathleen Keller for the third of seven Nations Cup competitions – and the first of just three CDIO5* events – on the calendar for 2015.
