Cormac Hanley and RMF Chacco Top Win $50k Hagyard Grand Prix at Kentucky Summer Classic

Lexington, Ky. – Aug. 7, 2021 – Top show jumping competition took to the Rolex Stadium Saturday evening during the Kentucky Summer Classic for the feature class of the week, the $50,000 Hagyard Grand Prix. The luck of the night belonged to the Irish as Cormac Hanley bested an 11-horse jump-off aboard RMF Chacco Top, beating last week’s grand prix winners David Beisel and Essince W by almost three seconds, while Canada’s Jonathon Millar and Isotropic Shadow placed third.

Keri Kampsen and Shiloh Roseboom Take Top Honors in $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby

Hunter competition at the Kentucky Summer Classic came to a head early Saturday morning in the Stonelea Ring during the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. An expansive fleet of 70 junior, amateur, and professional athletes took to the derby ring aboard their prospective mounts in hopes of claiming some of the last precious World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) points before the Finals later this fall. Due to the large field of competitors, the class was broken up into Professional and Non-Professional sections. Rising to the occasion in the pro-section was Keri Kampsen with Arezzo, while junior rider Shiloh Roseboom topped the Non-Pro section aboard Likely Story, posting the highest scores of the day out of all 70 competitors.

Keri Kampsen and Augusta Iwasaki Reign Supreme in $5000 USHJA National Hunter Derby

Lexington, Ky. – July 26, 2020 – Serving as the final day of competition at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, hunter competition stole the spotlight Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park for the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Featuring a strong field of 59 horse-and-rider combinations, the lush greenery surrounding the Stonelea Ring made for a perfect backdrop against the natural fences as each pair contested for a podium finish. Blowing away the competition, however, was Keri Kampsen who rode to victory aboard Ocean Road in the Pro section, while Augusta Iwasaki and Vanderpump took the top spot in the Non-Pro section.

Virginia Bonnie and Efodea Take the Inside Turn to Win the $7500 Amateur-Owner/Junior High Jumper Classic

Junior and Amateur-Owner competitors took to the Rolex Stadium Sunday afternoon to compete in the Low, Medium and High Junior and Amateur-Owner Jumper Classics. In the $7500 Amateur-Owner/Junior High Jumper Classic, sponsored by Johnson Horse Transportation and Audi of Lexington, junior rider Virginia Bonnie and Efodea put in an unrivaled performance early on in the order of go to emerge victorious.
