JustWorld International Returns as Charity Partner for the 2013 Hampton Classic Horse Show

Bridgehampton, NY – August 8, 2013 – JustWorld International will once again return to the 38th Hampton Classic Horse Show for a week of top-tier equestrian competition. The week will consist of shopping, entertainment and family events for all who attend from August 25 – September 1, 2013. This will be the seventh year that JustWorld and the Hampton Classic Horse Show have joined together to raise funds from within the global equestrian community to help provide education, nutrition, healthcare and vocational training programs to children in impoverished communities around the world. It is time for everyone to mark their calendars as JustWorld introduces their highly anticipated events, as well as an all-new light-hearted contest.

The hardworking 2013 Hampton Classic Junior Committee, co-chaired by Gabrielle Hero and Sarah Brandow, is working diligently to collect marvelous must-have silent auction items to benefit JustWorld during the exhibitor party on Friday, August 30, 2013. The silent auction has been nothing short of a success since its conception, and this year promises a “can’t miss” opportunity for all. The Hampton Classic Junior Committee is also helping to organize the widely popular JustWorld International Horseless Horse Show, as well as the newly developed JustWorld Penny Wars.

The war will be on during the 2013 Hampton Classic Horse Show. It will be barn against barn August 27-30, as each barn races to raise the most money in the inaugural Penny War. All proceeds will benefit the JustWorld projects in Cambodia, Honduras and Guatemala. To get involved, please e-mail Caitlin Demaree at cdemaree@justworldinternational.org or visit JustWorld International at the Hampton Classic information booth.

JustWorld010662Among the faces in the crowd for the 2013 Hampton Classic Horseless Horse Show will be the future generations of our sport, aspiring to one day sit in the saddle and tackle the course in the same way their idols will during the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix & FEI World Cup Qualifier. Their time may come even earlier than expected thanks to JustWorld International’s signature Horseless Horse Show. The competitors will participate in the fun and athletic event against more than 100 contenders of all ages. They will be faced with human-sized jumps in a course set very similar to those seen in the show jumping competitions. The Horseless Horse Show will take place during the exhibitor party on Friday, August 30, providing entertainment to more than 1,000 attendees.

JustWorld still has sponsorships available for the 2013 Hampton Classic Horseless Horse Show. Sponsor opportunities are available on multiple levels: class sponsorships and a title sponsorship. The cost of the class sponsorships range from $2,500 – $5,000 and the title sponsorship is available for $7,500. To participate as a sponsor, please e-mail Sabrina Jurak at sjurak@justworldinternational.org.

These events would not be possible without the dedication of the Hampton Classic Junior Committee members: Allison Toffolon, Ariel Leshem, Brooke Banks, Dylann Ephraimson, Grace Powers, Halle Murphy, Hannah Toohey, Kelsey Calabro, Kira Kerkorian, Louisa Soohoo, Madeline Briggs, Mallory Robalino, Matthew Acevedo, Olivia Mulvey, Sabrina Kalimian, Sam Ephraimson and Sima Morgello.

September 3, 2012 – Bridgehampton, New York – Only 15 years of age, Venezuela’s Emanuel Andrade scored an impressive win at the CSI4*-W Hampton Classic in Bridgehampton, New York, taking victory in the $15,000 North Star Junior/Amateur-Owner Classic on September 1 riding Tiny Tim.

Only three entries from the 39-horse starting field qualified for the jump-off over the 1.40m track set by internationally renowned course designer Guilherme Jorge of Brazil.  Two of those horses belonged to Andrade, who got the jump-off underway by posting a fast time of 36.83 seconds, but at the expense of two rails down with La Fe Forli.  Jean Sheptoff was next in, posting a clear round in 40.55 seconds to take over the lead riding Ami des Gemmes.  As the final challenger, Andrade knew exactly what he had to do to win.  Shaving more than three full seconds off the leading time, Andrade and Tiny Tim left all the rails in place, stopping the clock in 37.28 seconds to claim victory.

“He made a couple of mistakes in the jump-off with his first horse, which he analyzed for his ride with Tiny Tim,” explained trainer Angel Karolyi, a Venezuelan Show Jumping Team veteran.  “He knew what he needed to do in order to win the class.  He didn’t need to go too fast and risk making a mistake, but he knew that he had to do just enough to beat the time.”

“The Triple Crown Challenge adds an exciting element to great events such as Devon, the Hampton Classic and the Alltech National Horse Show,” said Ward. “As I mentioned after Devon, it’s a great bonus for the riders, a difficult one, but one with a great reward if you can get it done.
