Hagyard Becomes “Official Equine Pharmacy of the United States Equestrian Federation”

Lexington, KY – An agreement signed by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and Hagyard Equine Medical Institute has made Hagyard the “Official Equine Pharmacy of the USEF,” “Official Equine Veterinary Services Provider of the USEF,” “Official Equine Veterinary Services Provider of the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North,” and an “Official Sponsor of the USEF Rulebook.” As Veterinary Services Provider of the NAJYRC, Hagyard will provide treating veterinary coverage during the event.

Reed Kessler Claims 2012 Hagyard Challenge Series Lead

Lexington, KY – May 21, 2012 – Young rider Reed Kessler of Lexington, KY, not only leads the U.S. Show Jumping Team Long List, but she has now claimed the top spot in the 2012 Hagyard Challenge Series, sponsored by the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Consisting of seven grand prix classes to be held during the 2012 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park, the Hagyard Challenge Series offers a $50,000 Leading Rider Award. The rider accumulating the most points throughout the series will be presented with the bonus during the $50,000 World Cup Qualifier at the Kentucky National Horse Show in September.

On Thursday, May 17th, Kessler piloted Cylana to a second place finish in the $32,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic at the Kentucky Spring Classic, and also nabbed the fifth place award with her second mount, Mika. The previous week, Kessler and Mike were also fifth during the $50,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, and the 17-year-old rider has jumped to the top of the Leading Rider Standings.

2012 Hagyard Challenge Series to Feature Thoroughbred Award

Lexington, KY – May 17, 2012 – Kentucky Horse Shows, LLC, is pleased to announce that the 2012 Hagyard Challenge Series will feature a high point Thoroughbred Award. The Hagyard Challenge Series consists of seven grand prix classes to be held during the 2012 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park. Following the final event, a $10,000 prize will be presented to the high point Thoroughbred participating in the Series. To be eligible for the Thoroughbred award, horses must be registered with the Jockey Club or have a verifiable lip tattoo.

Dr. Stuart Brown, President of Hagyard, commented, “This award is in keeping with Hagyard’s commitment to Thoroughbreds. Since we were founded in 1876, we have had a vested interest in the Thoroughbred industry through the relationships with our traditional clients in the Bluegrass. We want to encourage and reward those who seek opportunities for second careers for these horses in athletic endeavors beyond flat racing.”

Hagyard Challenge Series Offers $50,000 Leading Rider Award, Beezie Madden Leads Standings

Lexington, KY – May 12, 2012 – The Kentucky Spring Horse Shows began on Wednesday, and one of the highlight events was the kick-off of the 2012 Hagyard Challenge Series, sponsored by the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. The Hagyard Challenge Series consists of seven grand prix classes to be held during the 2012 show series at the Kentucky Horse Park. Following the final event, a cash prize of $50,000 will be awarded to the rider accumulating the most points throughout the series.

The Kentucky Spring Horse Show, held May 9-13, 2012, featured the lead-off event on Friday night with the $50,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic. The top riders from across the nation gathered to compete over a challenging course and vie for the winning title and valuable points towards the $50,000 Leading Rider Award during the U.S. Show Jumping Team Observation Event. At the end of the night it was Beezie Madden and Simon in the winner’s circle, and the talented rider now leads the in the standings. The Kentucky Spring Classic, May 16-20, 2012, will host the second the $30,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, CSI 2* on Thursday, May 17.

McLain Ward Wins 2011 Hagyard Challenge Series’ $45,000 Leading Rider Bonus

Lexington, KY – September 29, 2011 – On Friday, September 23, McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, was presented with a check for $45,000 after earning the most points during the 2011 Hagyard Challenge Series. The Hagyard Challenge Series is a show jumping competition that is held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, throughout the summer months. Composed of seven grand prix events, the Hagyard Challenge Series concluded on September 23 with the $50,000 CSI-W Lexington Grand Prix. Ward stormed to victory during the event aboard Pjotter Van De Zonnehoeve with the fastest double clear effort.

Earlier this year, Ward claimed the first and second place honors in the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic during the Kentucky Summer Horse Show riding Pjotter Van De Zonnehoeve and Vocas, respectively. His stellar performances during each competition scored him the highest number of points for the Leading Rider Bonus.

“I think it is wonderful to have the Rider Bonus,” commented Ward. “It is a reward for consistency, which is something I always strive towards. Hagyard and the Kentucky Horse Shows have great events, and I think there is a lot of quality throughout the Series.”

McLain Ward Retains Lead in Hagyard Challenge Series

Lexington, KY – August 7, 2011 – After claiming the first and second place honors in the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic during last week’s the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, McLain Ward took over the lead in the 2011 Hagyard Challenge Series. The talented rider completed double clear rounds aboard Pjotter Van De Zonnehoeve and Vocas to earn valuable points towards the $45,000 Leading Rider Bonus.

Ian Millar of Canada continues to hold the second place position, having piloted Instyle and Star Power to fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively, during both of the $30,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic competitions during the Kentucky Spring Horse Show. Hector Florentino from the Dominican Republic is currently in the third place ranking, having placed first and sixth aboard Ultimo earlier in the year.

The Hagyard Challenge Series features seven show jumping events at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The rider who accumulates the most points in the series will receive a $45,000 Leading Rider Award, presented after the $50,000 World Cup Qualifier held on September 23, 2011, during the Kentucky National Horse Show.

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute Returns as Official Vet for Horse Shows by the Bay Equestrian Festival
