The Fifth Annual Gulf Coast Classic Pensacola Circuit started yesterday and will run through January 31st before the Circuit heads to Gulfport, Mississippi for six weeks of AA world-class show jumping competition!
The talk of the horse show world is the $5.00 Pre-Green Division offered only at the 2016 Gulf Coast Winter Classics. This special offering is a testament to the Classic and Gulf Coast Classic Company’s commitment to the development of the young horses in the United States. For only $5.00 per horse, owners and trainers can earn valuable competition mileage for their young horses. The specially priced division will be extended to all Gulf Coast Winter Classic shows in Gulfport following the Pensacola Circuit.
Tomorrow’s featured event, the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, presented by Legend, takes place at 11 am in the hunter arena. The rest of the day is filled with classes for all levels. “Our numbers are very good,” commented Jonathan Rabon, Office Manager. “Our Rated Hunter numbers are good, the Green Conformation Division has filled, the Green Working Hunters are split First and Second year, and overall, we’re very happy with our attendance here,” he added.
“It’s good to see our regulars and some new faces here as well,” he continued. “We’re looking forward to our International Derby next week and a lot of folks are calling about our grand prix over the next two weeks too,” Rabon added.
Saturday night the $10,000 EMO Jumper Classic takes to the world-class covered arena and Sunday features the $2,500 1.25m Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic sponsored by Elite Equine Sports Medicine & Lameness and the $1,500 1.10m sponsored by Finish Line.
