Labellised CSI 5*, CSI 2* CSI 1*, and CSI YH reserved to 7-year-old horses in 2017, the International Jumping of Dinard, held from 2nd to 5th August, adds another star. The CSI2* gives way to a CSI3* allowing to greet more qualified riders.
If the riders from Brittany are of course expected at this new level of competition, the CSI 3* should allow the elite riders of the CSI 5* to compete with more horses. In total, 60 entries are open in this new label; the competitors will be able to enter their horses in the famous Tropicana Derby, traditionally planned on Saturday afternoon.
Every day, high level sport
With a total prize money of 630 000€, this new edition of the International Jumping of Dinard promised to offer great days of showjumping. Two 1.45m classes (CSI 3* and CSI 5*) will open the festivities on Thursday 2nd August. The « serious matters » will start on Friday 3rd August with a 1.55m class (CSI 5*) granted with a donation of 62 000 € and a 1.50m class (CSI 3*) with a prize money of 24 600 € to bring the day to a close.
If the spectacular Tropicana Derby (CSI 3*) planned at 4.00pm is THE most expected moment of the competition; the spectators should miss neither the 1,50m class of the CSI 5*, nor the confrontation of the best 7-year-old horses in a 1,40m Grand Prix à (CSI YH), held on the beautiful sand arena.
On Sunday 5th August, time for Grand Prix! There will be high level sport since no less than 3 Grand Prix will be held in a row on the grass arena of the Val Porée. As early as 9.00am, the riders from the CSI 3* will try to clinch victory on a 1.50m course. At 12.30am, the riders from the CSI 1* will play their final in a 1.40m class. At 2.30pm, the world stars of showjumping will enter the stadium for the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard (CSI 5*), grand finale of the show, over a 1,60m class, designed by Jean-François Morand, and a 300 000 € prize money.
