Wellington, FL – February 15, 2012 – The long-anticipated Dressage under the Stars will get underway in Wellington tonight, February 15, 2012. The prestigious event will take place at the Palm Beach Polo and Hunt Club located within Greenview Cove on South Shore Boulevard opening at 6:30 pm, where attendees will be able to enjoy cocktails and dinner while watching the musical freestyles of the top dressage riders.

Media personality Steve Williams is ecstatic to bring the event back to Wellington for its fourth season, and provide the opportunity for the equestrian and non-equestrian communities to come together to witness the beauty of freestyle Dressage beneath the night sky. With even larger prize money and thrilling themed nights, the crowds are sure to be blown away.

In correspondence with last year’s success, Dressage under the Stars will use the same set up to conduct the event. Each Wednesday night, spectators will be able to observe three to four riders performing musical freestyles to a soundtrack of their choice. One of the most exciting features is the rider’s choice of attire – costumes are all part of the fun as horse and rider exemplify their soundtrack through Dressage and apparel. The eagerness is rising as the opening night ensues this evening. The winner from each preliminary Dressage under the Stars will return for the finale to vie for the championship and the grand prize.

Dressage under the Stars offers an extremely special opportunity for the Dressage community that allows the public a fun and easy format to understand. The series was originally designed to augment the top caliber International Dressage competitions throughout Wellington, and allow for Dressage to take “center stage” under the lights. The judges for tonight’s event include HISTORY’s Full Metal Jousting cast member James H. Fairclough II, rated show judge Bill McMullin, and polo player Sunny Hale.

Williams searched for an accessible venue that would both bring the equestrian and non-equestrian communities together, and have the perfect amenities to host such a prestigious event. After discovering the Palm Beach Polo and Hunt Club, Williams knew it was the right place to showcase these horse and rider combinations.

“Steve has always been extremely professional in every event he helps to coordinate,” owner of the Palm Beach Polo and Hunt Club Glen Straub said. “All of his events are a success, and looking at previous Dressage under the Stars, I have to say the proof is in the pudding that this will no doubt be spectacular.”
