Ocala, FL (November 8, 2011) – Horst and Luisa Ferrero, founders of the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation, will soon enjoy a carriage ride with world champion combined driver Chester Weber at his scenic Live Oak Farm in Ocala, Florida. Weber, the eight-time USEF National Four-In-Hand Champion, donated a carriage ride to the silent auction at the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation’s 4th annual fundraising event, Noche de Gala, and the Ferreros won the bid to spend an afternoon driving with the Four-In-Hand Champion.

The 4th Annual Noche de Gala “Enchanted” was held Saturday, October 22nd at Besilu Collection in Micanopy, Florida, benefiting the Shands Hospital for Children at the University of Florida. The evening proved to be a success and a night to remember, with more than 1,000 guests, 120 sponsors and over 150 volunteers.

Thanks to the support of the community, the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation was proud to give a $1.5 million gift to support the next phase of the children’s hospital — the pediatric intensive care unit.

Along with Weber’s carriage ride, over 200 items were auctioned off in the silent auction including cross-country getaways, autographed musical and sports memorabilia, original artwork, jewelry, spa and dining vouchers and much more.

“I have donated a carriage ride to the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation in the past and I am always pleased to support a worthy cause,” Weber said. “I am excited that the Ferreros won the ride and I look forward to spending the afternoon with them. Through their foundation they are making a huge impact on the medical community by building a state-of-the-art, full service children’s hospital in nearby Gainesville. It will be an honor to spend time with them.”

As a strong supporter of the community, Weber enjoys helping raise money for charity and at the same time introducing carriage ride winners to the world of combined driving. The Ferreros will not only get a taste of Weber’s enthusiasm for driving when they visit his Live Oak farm but they will also get a glimpse of the champion’s determination. “I love what I do and it is always a pleasure for me when I get to share my passion for driving with others,” Weber said, adding that he and his team recently performed a driving demonstration in front of thousands of enthusiastic spectators at the Washington International Horse Show.
