East Aurora, NY and Wellington, FL – January 29, 2013 – Katie Robinson of Deeridge Farms secured a championship tricolor this weekend in the Amateur-Owner 35 & Over Hunter division at the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival. This marked the first week of competition for the veteran duo at the prestigious event, proving that once again they are in top form for the upcoming season.

Robinson and Rock Steady had solid performances throughout the weekend, leading up to their victory in the Rost Arena yesterday. The course’s solid oxers and flowing lines gave Rock Steady plenty of room to show off his strengths. The pair won the handy round and placed first and second over fences to claim the championship honor.

“He always makes it fun,” said Robinson. “He’s really consistent and I can always count on him. He really shines in the handy classes, and I am very happy to have such a successful start to the season.”

The two had an impressive season last year, winning the Amateur Owner 35 and Over Hunter Championship at the Washington International Horseshow in November. Robinson will also be competing with Arico, her newest mount, in the International Hunter Derby events and the Amateur Owner Hunters.

Robinson and Deeridge Farms will continue to compete throughout the twelve weeks of the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. Rock Steady will return to the Amateur-Owner Hunter ring during the seventh week of the event.
