Wellington, FL (April 16, 2012) – Teen wonder rider Victoria Colvin, known as Tori, already has an award-winning resume at the tender age of 14, and the Loxahatchee based rider was once again in the winner’s circle during the tenth week of the 2012 Winter Equestrian Festival, riding away with the championship in the Second Year Green Working Hunter division. The division was sponsored by The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center, a world-class rehab and conditioning facility located in Ocala, Florida. The Sanctuary also sponsors the First Year Green, Regular Conformation and Green Conformation divisions.

Colvin won the championship on Inclusive, owned by Scott Stewart and Dr. Betsee Parker, a repeat performance as she and Inclusive also won the championship during week nine of the world-class show circuit. Colvin recently made headlines when she rode away with the $50,000 WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular at WEF, beating out her own trainer, Scott Stewart, as well as the country’s top professionals. Colvin also competed Inclusive in the Hunter Spectacular, placing third in the prestigious class.

Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary’s 30-acre state-of-the-art facility in Ocala, congratulated Colvin on winning the championship in the Second Year Greens. “Tori is an amazing rider and we are thrilled to once again add her name to the list of winners who have won Sanctuary sponsored divisions. Tori’s career has been extraordinary, from a pony career in which she won almost every title possible to already winning Grand Prixs against veteran riders such as Margie Engle and Jimmy Torano.”

During the tenth week of the 2012 Winter Equestrian Festival, the other Sanctuary sponsored division winners included: Havens Schatt won the First Year Green Working Hunter Championship on Bacardi, owned by Caroline Moran; Jennifer Bauersachs won the Green Conformation Hunter Championship on Wingman, owned by Lee Kellogg Sadrian; and Kelley Farmer wont the Regular Conformation Hunter Championship on Vox, owned by Jessica Stitt.

The Sanctuary is dedicated to adequately preparing horses for the show ring, which includes building muscle and stamina. “Our goal is to keep every horse competing at the top of their game,” McDuffee said. “Hunters like Inclusive are high-performance athletes and need to stay in top physical shape just like human athletes. All of the therapies at The Sanctuary are based on methods used for human rehabilitation.”

The Sanctuary offers a wide range of treatments, including a Cold Saltwater Leg Spa that helps keep horse’s legs pain free. “The Cold Saltwater Leg Spa is the ideal treatment for legs,” McDuffee said. “With 35 degree turbulated saltwater, the leg spa stops pain, reduces swelling and inflammation, removes heat, increases circulation, relieves sore feet and speeds healing.“
