USEF Promotes Harris and Provost to Chief Officer Positions

Lexington, Ky. – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce the promotions of two of its senior staff members. David Harris has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, and Justin Provost has assumed the role of Chief Information Officer. Both are longtime employees of the Federation who have overseen their respective departments as Senior Directors for numerous years.

“Justin and David are valued members of our USEF team,” said Bill Moroney, USEF CEO. “Both have stepped up to meet the increased responsibilities in their areas of expertise and we are proud to recognize their commitment and dedication to the USEF.”

Harris joined the USEF in 2005 as Assistant Controller in the Finance department. Six months later, Harris was promoted to Controller and eventually took over management of the department and all Federation accounting activities. In the past year, Harris also assumed responsibility for oversight of the Customer Care Center, Membership and Horse Services, Human Resources, Business Analysis, Travel and Events, and Facilities departments. Additionally, he leads the team tasked with development and construction of the new USEF headquarters building at the Kentucky Horse Park.

“This is a very exciting time for the Federation as we take on new strategic initiatives and I am honored to be a part of the team leading the transformation,” said Harris, who competes with his wife in combined driving in his spare time. “I am fortunate to be able to work with so many talented and passionate individuals to safeguard our sport.”

Provost began his tenure at the USEF in 1998 as a Programmer in the Information Technology (IT) department. He was promoted within the department to Assistant Director, Director, and then Senior Director. Under his leadership, the IT department has grown from a three-person department to a 15-member team that provides services ranging from daily systems programming and management, to supporting the many USEF strategic initiatives. In addition to internal services, the department has evolved into a profit center for the Federation, providing IT solutions to organizations such as the United States Hunter Jumper Association, United States Pony Club, and American Saddlebred Horse Association.

“I appreciate this vote of confidence and recognition of the great work the IT department has done over the years,” said Provost. “We have a passionate team that is committed to using technology to help our members. I look forward to bringing more new and exciting innovations to the equestrian environment.”
