Wellington, FL (January 11, 2016) – The dressage community has made its way down to Wellington, Florida, once again for the winter show season. Competitors and dressage enthusiasts alike are invited to take a break from training and competing to reunite at ShowChic on Tuesday, January 19. The fashionable dressage boutique, ShowChic, will be holding its monthly Shop Talk event, this month featuring Grand Prix Rider and #1 New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag. The Shop Talk will serve as an educational event, early birthday party for Hoag, and sneak-peak into her newest book, Bittersweet. As ShowChic is well known for celebrating in style with the dressage community (through events like Shop Talks and Jog Soirées at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival), the gathering on January 19 is sure to be an evening to remember.

Tami Hoag, of Palm Beach County, Florida, is as dedicated to riding as she is to writing. The dressage competitor has had a love for both activities since she was a child, and wrote her first self-published book – Black Pony – at the age of nine. Since then, Hoag has enjoyed numerous rides in the Grand Prix ring as well as incredible success for her novels. Hoag has written over thirty-five books, including fifteen New York Times bestsellers. Her newest book, the much-anticipated Bittersweet, will be released this month.

At the January Shop Talk at ShowChic’s boutique in Wellington, Florida, Hoag will give attendees an insider’s look at this new book – with an entertaining twist. Shop Talk attendees are also invited to bring gag-gifts for the birthday girl! The person who brings the most humorous gift for Hoag will receive a free, signed copy of Bittersweet. Shop Talk attendees can choose to purchase a copy of Hoag’s newest book after the talk, when the dressage rider/author will host a book signing. As usual, there will be plenty of time at the Shop Talk to socialize with fellow dressage riders and browse through ShowChic’s unique merchandise and popular riding apparel at the close of the event. “I’m looking forward to another celebration of books and birthday! It’ll be hard to top last year’s very Tami-appropriate gag gifts. I can’t wait to see what people come up with!” says Hoag.

ShowChic’s Shop Talks have already been a big hit in Wellington this winter. The December Shop Talk, featuring the beloved dressage-judging duo Bill Warren and Bill McMullin, left standing room only in the boutique. Shop Talks in the months following Tami Hoag’s will include notable guest speakers such as the partners of the Wellington Equine Sport Medicine Group, and Laura King, a nationally recognized certified sports hypnotist, performance coach, and author.

ShowChic hopes to see all dressage enthusiasts at 6:30 pm on January 19 at the ShowChic boutique. Anyone who can’t make the event can find ShowChic’s mobile boutique – full of top products from brands like Pikeur, Cavallo, Kentucky, Grand Prix, Samshield, Equiline, and Eurostar – at the show grounds at the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. Mini Equines “Barnes” and “Noble” Join Bestseller Tami Hoag at The 9th Girl Booksigning This Friday

Wellington, FL (June 19, 2013) – While mystery writer Tami Hoag debuts her most recent book, two very unique miniature horses will also be making their debut at their namesake store: Barnes & Noble Booksellers.  Both of the miniature horses, aptly named Barnes and Noble, will be celebrating the release of Hoag’s much anticipated thriller, The 9th Girl, at 7pm on June 21, 2013 at the Barnes & Noble in Wellington, Florida located at 10500 West Forest Hill Boulevard.  Fans of Hoag and her writing will get a rare opportunity to hear about the inspiration and development of Hoag’s characters and story lines, as well as see the miniature horses, who are brothers and as identical as bookends.

The 9th Girl opens on a frigid New Year’s Eve in Minneapolis, when a young woman’s brutalized body falls from the trunk of a car into the path of oncoming traffic. Questions as to whether she was alive or dead when she hit the icy pavement result in her macabre nickname, Zombie Doe.  Unidentifiable, she is the ninth nameless female victim of the year, and homicide detectives Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska are charged with not only finding out who Zombie Doe is, but who in her life hated her enough to destroy her.

Uncover the mystery behind great mystery story-writing, and see a matched pair of minatures, as Barnes & Noble hosts the author and avid dressage rider just as The 9th Girl is released worldwide.  Hoag’s fans know she is devoted to her own dressage horses, and began her writing and riding career at age nine with a self-published, self-illustrated third-grade ‘bestseller,’ Black Pony, about two children sharing a pony named Smoky.

With fifteen consecutive Times bestsellers, including Deeper Than the Dead, Secrets to the Grave, and Prior Bad Acts, Hoag has more than 35 million books in print, published in more than 20 languages. Her first thriller, Night Sins, was made into a mini-series in 1997, and continues to air on cable networks.

At the Spirit Equestrian Center Dressage in late July, Hoag’s five-year-old Oldenburg mare strutted her stuff and took the High Score of the Show honors with a 74.06%.  Aria was shown and trained by Charlie Pinneo, a Grand Prix competitor and USDF gold, silver, and bronze medalist.

“Aria and I had a great ride this weekend at Spirit Equestrian Center,” said Pinneo.  “She’s a great young horse with an excellent mind and beautiful gaits.  Despite this being only her second show, she got down to business and proved herself to be a winner.”  Pinneo went on to say that he and Tami are aiming Aria at the 5-Year-Old Futurity classes during the California Dressage Society Championships in October.  “I’d like to thank Tami for the opportunity to train and show such a talented young horse.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds,” said Pinneo.
