ACTHA Ride Hosts

Identify your ‘WHY’ and let the fun and earning begin!

Whether you have access to six to eight miles of trails or simply an arena or field, you can host ACTHA competitions. Becoming an ACTHA Ride Host is a great way for horse enthusiasts to earn money while doing something they love. The reasons WHY many choose to become ACTHA Ride Hosts are vast. Some use it as a means to fund winter hay for their own farm, or to support their own ‘horse habit’. Many others use it as a means to benefit a rescue close to their heart, a therapeutic riding academy or other non-profit. There are trainers, boarders and stables who use it as a way to introduce local riders to their farm and other equine opportunities they may be offering in their full-time equine operation. And for others, they have found there is just no better way to meet other riders, enjoy casual competition with like-minded horsemen and women, and create a social community based out of their facility or farm. What better excuse is there for putting in that great fire pit than inviting 30-40 riders out for a weekend of riding, horse camping and socializing?

Whatever your WHY might be, let ACTHA help you get a schedule started and let the fun and earning begin! Click here to begin your journey as an ACTHA Ride Host.

A successful ride host is someone who will call every person on their call list and invite them to their ride. ACTHA provides a list of 100 known pleasure riders within a hundred miles of your ride. Among your many ACTHA tools for success as a prestigious ACTHA Ride Host!

The American Competitive Trail Horse Association uses its powerful web-based software to help Ride Hosts create, market and manage their rides. On average, our ride hosts earn $2,000 in just one weekend, and many earn even more. Plus, ACTHA donates a portion of each ACTHA member’s ride fee to an equine charity of your choice.

When you host an ACTHA ride, horses in need aren’t the only ones who reap the benefits of your hard work.

ACTHA memberships start at $10 for a trial 30 day member. Everyone is invited to ride with ACTHA. You need not be a member to ride in any ACTHA event (provided space is available). However, to participate in ACTHA partners discounts and prizes you must be a full annual member ($35 for an individual; special pricing for families). 20% of ACTHA’s share of EVERY member’s entry fee at EVERY event goes to a charity selected by the individual ride host. That’s how you help. Literally hundreds of thousands have been donated by this humble grass roots method to charities big and small, local and far away. ACTHA’s Mission since inception: to create an enjoyable venue showcasing the wonderful attributes of the great American trail horse and granting them the recognition they so richly deserve; to create a registry open to all breeds and a point designation system which will stay with each horse for its lifetime, thereby adding to their value and distinction; to create and enable humane treatment and employment options for horses in need.
