Bromont, July 28, 2019 – Canadian Ali Ramsay and her mount Lutz won their first Grand Prix together at the International Bromont on a magnificent court, despite weather conditions.

Weather delays the competition
Due to a thunderstorm, the International Bromont Grand Prix had to be interrupted and the heavy rain (more than 14 mm in 20 minutes) looked like it might compromise the return to competition, but the excellent quality of the footing allowed the continuation of activities on an course better than ever. In fact, 35 minutes after the announcement of the restart of the class, the international ring was drained and ready for the waiting participating pairs.

Ali Ramsay and Lutz get ahead of Daniel Coyle and CHS Krooze
The course designed by Leopoldo Palacios (VEN) allowed only 6 pairs to advance to the jump-off: Canadians Ali Ramsay with Lutz and Keean White with Corette and Tahiorn, Americans Leslie Burr-Howard with Donna Speciale and Christine McCrea with Dali de Vy, as well as Irishman Daniel Coyle.

The first two pairs on the course, Christine McCrea/Dali de Vy & Keean White/Tahiorn, both incur 8 penalty faults over obstacles, leaving the door open for the following competitors. Daniel Coyle and CHS Krooze put pressure on as they rush forward and execute a clear round in the fastest time. However, their advance is short-lived, as the following pair, Ali Ramsay and Lutz, successfully get ahead by a few tenths of a second.

An excellent week for Leslie Howard & Donna Speciale
Leslie Howard, who won the welcome event on Thursday with Donna Speciale, and finished second at the CSI3* Classic on Friday, took fourth place this time.

Bromont, August 3, 2018 – Ali Ramsay (CAN) and Hermelien VD Hooghoeve stayed in the lead in the FEI Assante Classic this Friday at the International Bromont.

5 Canadians in the Top 10
28 rider-horse pairs took part in the fifth FEI event of the two weeks of competition at the International Bromont. Ten would make it to the jump-off, including Ali Ramsay who won the Welcome Opening event of the first week last year at the International Bromont.

Ali Ramsay and her mare Hermelien VD Hooghoeve (Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve x Djakarta) had the edge right from the start: the first round: second pair on the course, they execute the first clear round. We have to wait until Mario Deslauriers on Amsterdam 27, seventh pair on the course, to ensure a jump-off. Mario Deslauriers also qualifies for the second round with Bardolina 2. They are joined by Susan Horn (CAN) & Lilly Fee, Jonathan McCrea (USA) & Aristoteles V, Fernando Martinez Sommer (MEX) & Cor Bakker, Leslie Howard (USA) & Donna Speciale, Lisa Carlsen (CAN) & Malbec, Cormac Hanley (IRL) & Copain Z as well as Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) & DHI Zulu.

Of the 10 pairs qualified for the jump-off, nine will finally take the course. First to come back, Ramsay and Hermelien again establish the time to beat with a perfect round in 34.64 seconds. They stay on top of the final standings, and are joined by Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) and DHI Zulu (2e position) as well as Jonathan McCrea (USA) and Aristoteles V (3e position) in the Top 3.
