Michele Betti Shares His Expertise with Riders Wintering in Wellington

Michele Betti works with Michelle Realmuto.

Wellington, FL – February 3, 2015 – Michele Betti, the former chef d’equipe of the Italian eventing team, has set up shop in Wellington this winter alongside his partner, Italian Grand Prix dressage rider Silvia Rizzo. Betti, who has a strong dressage and eventing background, is available through mid-February to help riders with lessons, training and clinics and can travel around the South Florida area to give individualized instruction.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to train with Betti! Contact him to arrange lessons at (561) 310-2697 or info@hofmarabunta.com.

When they’re not enjoying the sun and warmth that South Florida provides, Betti and Rizzo are based in Germany at their training center, Hof Marabunta. Betti coaches Rizzo, who is currently competing the 16-year-old Lusitano stallion Sal, in her international dressage career. Betti will be available for clinics at Hof Marabunta from the end of February onwards. Contact him in Germany at +49 171-3461728 or info@hofmarabunta.com.

Betti’s extensive experience makes him a great trainer for hunter/jumper riders who want to tune up their flatwork. He draws on dressage principles to provide insightful, constructive feedback. Keeping a positive approach, he focuses on developing correct basics and a consistent connection.

Betti was the chef d’equipe and team trainer for the Italian eventing team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen and the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. He was awarded the title of “Master of Excellence” for his achievements.

Accomplished eventer Marcia Kulak recently took a lesson with Betti, who came out to Kulak’s beautiful facility in Wellington. Kulak has a 25-year career as a top international rider. She has successfully competed on the sport’s biggest stages: Rolex Kentucky, Burghley, Blenheim, Boekelo and Fair Hill.

Kulak’s assistant manager Michelle Realmuto was also on hand for some helpful instruction from Betti. Realmuto rode Keeter’s Rift, a 10-year-old off the track Thoroughbred gelding. She felt she received some valuable tips in their time together.

“I think he was really clear about his expectations,” Realmuto explained. “Even though we were jumping, he really stressed that it’s not the jump that’s important, but what you do in your preparation to the jump and after.”

She also felt that what she learned in her lesson could easily be translated to other horses that she rides.

“I’m really looking forward to practicing some of the concepts we worked on today on the next horse I ride,” Realmuto said. “The next time I ride, I’ll definitely try and recreate what we did today.”
