February 3, 2013 – Wellington, Florida – Jessica Springsteen pocketed a $1,000 bonus for wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on her way to victory in the $15,000SJHOF High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic during week four of the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.

Springsteen qualified two horses for the jump-off after successfully negotiating the marathon first round track set by two-time Olympic course designer Leopoldo Palacios of Venezuela.  From the 37 entries, six horses advanced to the tie-breaker with Springsteen posting the fastest clear round effort, stopping the clock in 40.30 seconds riding Wish.  With the only other clear jump-off performance, she also placed second with Vindicat W, the horse Peter Charles rode to a team gold medal for Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics.  Springsteen, who trains with 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist Laura Kraut, was cheered on to victory by her parents, Bruce and Patti Springsteen.

With a $1,000 bonus on the line, Springsteen was wearing her SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves.

“I remember the last time I was in the jump-off I didn’t have the gloves on, and when I heard them announce that today’s class was part of the bonus series, I made sure to put them on,” said Springsteen of Colts Neck, NJ.  “I like the promotion a lot, and I feel like it’s great for everyone.  I love how it accumulates, too, if no one wins it.  It’s really fun!”

While Springsteen claimed the bonus money in the High Amateur-Owner Classic, the bonus money has quadrupled in the $33,000 WEF Challenge Series.  For week five’s $33,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round V, a bonus of $12,000 will be on the line: more than first place prize money!  The bonus money has not been claimed since the first week of competition when Rodrigo Pessoa took home a $3,000 bonus.

The bonus has also tripled in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic, with a $3,000 bonus on offer to the winner of week five’s $10,000 Junior Jumper Classic if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves.

SSG Riding Gloves offers a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic and the Junior Jumper High Classic competitions.  If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with a cash bonus during the awards presentation.  If not awarded, the bonus money carries forward to the next event in the series.  A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Riding Gloves at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Beval Saddlery, Hadfield’s Saddlery, Jods and Running Fox.
