Coatesville, PA — Iron Spring Farm’s Ulbert 390 Sport impressed the judges and spectators with his lineup of champion offspring at the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA) keuring (inspection) in Coatesville, PA. Ulbert was a competitive FEI horse and is now an exceptional sire. Among the big winners was his daughter Evita ISF, who was awarded 1st Premie Star, along with her provisional Crown predicate. She was also named Champion Mare and Site Champion.

“Great mares are the cornerstone of a successful breeding program,” explained owner Mary Alice Malone, who not only bred Evita ISF, but also rode her father through Prix St. Georges. “We are very excited that Ulbert is producing this quality of sporthorse.” Evita ISF was foaled in April of 2009 and is now under saddle. Check out photos of Evita at http://www.ironspringfarm.com/isfsales/evita-isf/details/2438.

Ulbert is by Sierk 326 and out of a Star mare by Leffert 306 Preferent. His career got off to a spectacular start as a three-year-old when he was one of the top-ranked horses at his stallion inspection. He quickly began to win dressage classes in the Netherlands before being imported to the U.S.A., where he continued to ascend the levels.

His first offspring established him as a sire of note when his son Maurits 437 received his Approved stallion status. Son Jonas ISF Star successfully showed Third Level, and is now competing with his new owner Michelle McGee in dressage and breed shows. Several Ulbert daughters have been awarded 1st Premie and championship honors.

At last week’s keuring, Ulbert’s son Albert ISF was designated as a Star stallion, while Gina Tina HSF, owned by Gail Zambor, received 1st Premie and was Reserve Site Champion. Echo ISF, another Ulbert daughter, was named the reserve Champion Mare and also received her Star predicate. Echo is a wonderful example of Ulbert’s offspring — she is beautiful, smart and a farm favorite. “Echo’s sweet temperament and trainability makes her a pleasure to work with,” shared Ashley Wolfe, Sales Manager for ISF. Another ISF stallion, Uwe 458, also had a great keuring. Uwe sired the Colt and Filly Champions, Monoceros ISF and Melody ISF respectively. Check out Iron Spring Farm’s Facebook page and www.ironspringfarm.com for photos, videos and more stories.
