International Horse Sport Champions Cup Offers High-Performance Dressage Classes and Generous Prize Money

Loxahatchee, FL – March 14, 2013 – The March 21-24 International Horse Sport (IHS) Champions Cup CDI-W, held at the International Horse Sport Champions Park at Equestrian Estates, promises to be an exciting event.

The competition in Loxahatchee, FL, serves as a USEF High Performance Qualifying Competition for the 2013 World Cup with more than $15,000 in cash and prizes.

The event also serves as an IHS Blue Hors Invitational and Series Final Qualifier. The final for the IHS Invitational and Series will award a Champion and Reserve Champion horse and rider combination for first through fourth levels, Prix St. Georges, Intermediaire I and Grand Prix. To qualify for the Championship each horse/rider combination must compete in at least two of the first four IHS shows for the 2013 season and ride the highest test of the level at least twice. A minimum of five teams must be qualified and present at each level for prize money to be awarded. The Champion and Reserve must be present for the mounted awards ceremony at the Dressage at the Equestrian Estates CDI3* show on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at each level for prize money to be awarded.

Other championship classes for the IHS Champions Cup include the 2013 USEF National Grand Prix and Intermediaire I, the 2013 Massy Ferguson/USEF North American Junior and Young Riders Championship, USEF National Pony Rider Championships, USEF Developing Horse Championships, the Markel/USEF Young Horse Championships, USEF National Brentina Cup Championships, USEF Level 5 Competition with USDF Musical Freestyles and USEF First through Fourth Levels.

The Champions Cup will be held at IHS Champions Park, also known as the Derby Showgrounds, a beautiful property in White Fences owned by Mary Ann and Walter McPhail and managed by International Horse Sport Palm Beach. The IHS Palm Beach Managing Partners include FEI riders and trainers Ed Borresen and Lars Petersen, together with well-known show organizers Noreen O’Sullivan and John Flanagan. The IHS Champions Park consists of 10 rings suitable for national and international competition on over 50 acres, including 15 acres of parking, 150 horse stalls for the international horses and another 200 temporary stalls available for the national shows.
