The reception was held at Player’s Club in Wellington, FL.

Special awards were presented to those supporters recognizing their giving at the Gold Medal Club level for 10, 15, 25 and 30 years.

Gladstone, NJ – January 13, 2011 – The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Trophy will be talented eventing rider Tiana Coudray. Each year this award is presented to a Young Rider in one of the Olympic disciplines who exemplifies both sportsmanship and horsemanship. In 2011 Coudray had a banner year, winning the Jersey Fresh CCI*** and the Galway Downs International Horse Trials CIC***, as well as leading the U.S. efforts at the Boekelo CCI*** in Holland.
“When the USET Foundation told me that I was the winner of this year’s award I went and looked it up,” commented Coudray. “I was pretty honored to look at the other names on the list throughout the years and think of what those people have gone on to do later in their careers.”
Over the years, Coudray has consistently shown her talent as a young rider. She won Team Gold at the North American Young Riders Championships in both 2004 and 2008, and took home the Individual Silver Medal in 2004. She has won the United States Eventing Association Young Rider of the Year Award an amazing three times in 2005, 2007, and 2009.

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce Kelsey Kimbler as the 2010 Junior Equestrian of the Year. This highest of honor offered to a junior equestrian comes on the heels of another big honor Kelsey earned earlier this month – the 2010 USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award, sponsored by Breyer Animal Creations. This puts Kelsey in elite company, as one of only a handful of junior equestrians to accomplish both feats in the same year.
“My sister Kirsten won this award in 2007 and I’ve always looked up to her. When she won, I decided ‘That’s my next goal!’” Kimbler related. “It has been a whirlwind experience.”
The 17-year-old high school senior has shown an unwavering commitment to her sport. As a young child, she started in the show ring with walk-trot. Soon after, she continued her riding with endurance and has never looked back. Kimbler has won the AERC Junior National Hundred Mile Award twice in its four years of existence. This award is given to the junior rider who completes the most 100-mile rides in one year. Kimbler holds the record for being the only junior to complete five such endurance rides in one year. She also has represented the AHA Youth Association as her region’s delegate and through involvement in 4-H events with her Arabians. She was nominated by both the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) and the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC).
Gladstone, NJ – December 8, 2010 – Throughout the year, the United States Equestrian Team Foundation works diligently to honor the top riders in their disciplines as they excel at the highest level of the sport. In 2010, the USET Foundation presented 16 awards to riders in five disciplines to honor their incredible achievements. The mission of the USET Foundation is to support and foster America’s riders and they help do this by recognizing each athlete’s excellent accomplishments.
This year during their fundraising event, the USET Foundation recognized the Whitney Stone Cup recipient McLain Ward. The award is given to an active competitor whose consistent excellence in international competition, and whose standards of sportsmanlike conduct and contributions as an ambassador for the sport and for the USET, exemplify the Team’s highest ideals and traditions. In 2009, Ward was unstoppable as he consistently exhibited brilliance in international competition.
The Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Trophy was also presented in February and this year the award went to young rider Jennifer Waxman. The award goes to a Young Rider in one of the Olympic disciplines who exemplifies both sportsmanship and horsemanship.

VENEZUELA, CHILE, ECUADOR AND COLOMBIA CLAIM GOLD
Caracas (VEN), 26 November 2010 – The host nation scooped all the medals in the Young Riders division at the FEI Americas Jumping Championship in Caracas, Venezuela last weekend. However Chile claimed gold in the Junior competition, Colombia came out on top in the Pre-Juniors and Ecuador stood top of the podium in the Children’s section.
The 2010 Championships were staged at the Escuela de Equitacion Negro Primero which is located at Fuerte Tiuna in Caracas, Venezuela, and 10 nations participated in the exciting event. These Championships were previously held in Bogota, Colombia in 2009 and prior to that in Caracas in 2007 and Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2006.
KEENEST COMPETITION
Some of the keenest competition was seen in the younger divisions with both the Children and Pre-Junior and medals decided in a third-round jump-off. There were 13 starters in the Children’s Championship, and Ecuador’s Claudia Silva and Venezuela’s Victoria Karam impressively completed the first three classes on a zero score and so battled it out against the clock.
