With the economy the way it is everyone is doing their best to make ends meet these days. Unfortunately there are a lot of our friends, neighbors and show buddies that due to circumstances beyond their control can no longer manage to keep all or some of their horses and must find wonderful and safe homes for their equine family members. In response to this need this is a page devoted to assisting horses in need in hopes of finding someone who will be able to give them the love and home they have always known. Keep checking this page as it will be updated as new horses in need are listed. None of the horses here are neglected or abused and the prospective new owners will deal directly with the current owners. Please look at the horses that are posted here and fill out the ‘Contact Us’ form at http://www.horsesinneed.vpweb.com and your inquiry will be forwarded to the owner right away and they will contact you. Please make sure that you list the horse’s name and the corresponding file number in the comment section of the Contact page. This website is strictly a network site to help the horses in need and Ravenwood Farm or Chris/Dale Dunn is not responsible nor directly involved with the placing of these horses.

With the Dunn’s previous involvement in the equine support world, they saw the need to help people out that we knew had personal reasons to have to re-home their most precious equines. Ravenwood Farm receives no monetary gains or donations for providing this network – it is only to help the horses and the many people who due to circumstances beyond their control having to give up their best friends.

SOCKS – 05091 13+ yo Chestnut mare. Socks has an old right hind fetlock injury that puts her in the ‘companion only’ category. She is gentle and great with people and children and is looking for a loving forever home.

POLO – 05092 Meet Polo a 25+ yo bay gelding who is gentle and great with kids. Polo is a companion animal due to his age but is looking for a forever home to spend his retirement years.

SHAH – 05093 Shah is a very handsome 22 yo Chestnut Arabian Gelding who needs to be re-homed along with his sister Flame. Shah and Flame’s present home can no longer financially care for both of them and wants them to go together to a forever home. Shah was a trail horse has been well cared for. Due to a sway back he should be used only for small children or as a wonderful therapy horse.

FLAME – 05094 What a gorgeous Arabian mare Flame is! She has some arthritis and therefore should only be used for small children, or with her 14.2h height, she would make a wonderful therapy horse. Both Flame and Shah are used to small children and need to go to their new forever home together.

ROMEO – 05095 Romeo is a very handsome boy that is 15h and 10 yo. He is an excellent jumper and has had some training on barrels. He is very good natured. He does like to be the lead horse when trail riding with other horses and he likes to trot. Due to financial reasons his owner needs to find him a new forever home. He has been well loved and cared for.

BLAZE – 05096 Blaze is a 13 yo 15h gelding. He was a rescue that his present owner rehabbed and owned since he was 3 yo. He is very very sweet. great with anyone likes to walk and is Tennessee Walker. The vets suggest that he should not have anyone over 175 lbs ride him due to his neglect when he was a foal. He loves to be groomed and rubbed. Very well cared for and in good condition unfortuantely his owner has no choice due to financial reasons but to place him in another home.
