Lexington, KY – August 9, 2010 – With only one month until the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) the Kentucky Horse Park is already preparing for the opening day.  On August 20, 2010, the Welcoming Waters Ceremony will take place in the new Indoor Ring. During the ceremony the nine regions being represented during WEG will present water to the First Lady of Kentucky Jane Beshear.  The Welcoming Waters Ceremony will be held prior to the $50,000 CSI-W Hagyard Lexington Classic World Cup Qualifier.  During the World Cup Qualifier, spectators can purchase a table at “The Betsy Gala” to watch international riders compete for the top prize.

The Welcoming Waters Ceremony will be a chance for each region to give a gift to First Lady Jane Beshear.  This offering symbolizes the equestrians from each region giving a gift to Kentucky for hosting the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.  The water will mimic the Olympic flame, which burns during the length of the Olympics.  Once the World Equestrian Games has concluded the water will be transported to Normandy, France where the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games will be taking place.

All Members of the Press Are Invited to the End of Season Celebration, Benefit, and Open House at 3410 Old Hampton Drive in Grand Prix Village

gala004613-200Wellington, FL – April 8, 2010 – Members of the press are invited to attend a very special end of season celebration and benefit on Sunday, April 11, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 3410 Old Hampton Drive in Grand Prix Village.  Robert Ross, in conjunction with Keller Williams Realty, is holding this Gala on the property of his latest listing. This amazing facility is unquestionably the most extravagant equestrian facility in Wellington and will be opened to the public for one evening. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while touring the breathtaking barn and taking the opportunity to view all that this equestrian property has to offer.

In addition to the open house, the evening will be held as a benefit for several causes near and dear to all of our hearts in the equestrian community. There will be a silent auction of a very few super items to raise money for the Equestrian Aid Foundation, which helps people in the horse world suffering from life-threatening illnesses or injuries.

Dressage rider Robert Dover will also be coming out of retirement for one evening to perform a musical freestyle in honor of our equestrian friends Courtney King-Dye and Charlie Weaver, both of whom are recovering from very serious injuries and desperately need our help. Dover is looking for generous contributors to come forward and sponsor his exhibition and is hoping for as many people as possible to underwrite his performance for $5,000 to help Courtney and Charlie.

Wellington, FL – March 17, 2010 – The ninth annual Challenge of the Americas competition and Gala were held this past Saturday night, March 13, at International Polo Club Palm Beach. Held as a benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the event raised approximately $200,000 in support of finding a cure for a disease that has affected so many lives.

Following Team International The Seley Parker Group Merrill Lynch’s quadrille victory, the Challenge Gala got underway with an evening of dinner and dancing. This year’s gala, a sold-out affair, was held in the beautiful Grand Marque tent at International Polo Club Palm Beach and featured a sit-down dinner, live auction and dancing. Top riders, trainers and judges of the dressage world attended the Gala, along with generous sponsors and supporters.

Held as a benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the last nine years, the Challenge of the Americas has raised over $1.2 million since its inception in 2002.  This year they will once again add a generous donation to that total.
