Ocala, FL – February 22, 2012 – The success within the hunter rings continued this week for SBS Farms at the HITS III Ocala Winter Festival. Maggie May is a six-year-old Bradenberger mare owned by Billie Steffee, who Alfano showed to the championship tricolor in the High Pre-Green Hunter division. The young mare is always improving, and the pair took two blue ribbons over fences and the second place award for their efforts in the under saddle.

“She has been great; I am really excited about her this year. She keeps getting better and better every week, and she is really growing up a lot,” Alfano explained. “It’s really fun to be a part of her coming along, and being able to watch it all unfold.”

Lausanne (SUI), 22 February 2012 – The London 2012 Olympic Games marks 100 years of equestrian sport in the Olympic movement, and FEI President HRH Princess Haya is looking forward to celebrating the centenary at Greenwich Park this summer.

“We are really proud to be celebrating 100 years of Olympic equestrian sport at the London 2012 Games and it’s wonderful that we will be doing that at an iconic venue like Greenwich Park right in the heart of the Games,” FEI President HRH Princess Haya said today.

“Greenwich Park is the second largest venue in London 2012 and tickets for the Cross Country were one of the fastest to sell out. Demand has been so high for our sport that tickets for all the equestrian disciplines were sold out in a matter of weeks, establishing us as one of the most popular sports in the Games.

Lisa Hyslop Scores High in Global Dressage Festival 1 National Horse Show

Wellington, FL – February 21, 2012 – Lisa Hyslop captured the high score of the day at the Global Dressage Festival (GDF) 1 National Horse Show on Tuesday. Riding Rolling Stone, her 18-year-old Westphalen gelding, the pair scored a 69.342% in the FEI Prix St. George class.  Hyslop, who owns Oak Hammock Farm in nearby Loxahatchee, FL, was pleased her horse and with the results of their preparation prior to the show.

“He is in great shape. You could not tell that he is 18-years-old,” said Hyslop of her German-bred mount that was imported to the US in 2006.  “We trained a lot at home and 90% of what I wanted to achieve today came together.  I am very happy with my ride.”

The atmosphere at the GDF National Show was much different than at the $50,000 Florida Dressage Classic CDI-W, presented by USPRE, which was held February 16-19 at the Global Dressage Festival.  Hyslop found it appealing.
