“Making and Managing Your Money in the Horse Industry” was the topic of a presentation given at the Women’s Horse Industry Conference, November 3-4, 2009 in Louisville. Jennifer Foster, president of EQ Bookkeeping, presented a one hour seminar to equine business owners to help them better understand how to make money in their industry.
Topics and examples were discussed including the top four reasons horse businesses fail, completely understanding the costs associated with providing a product or service, the importance of budgeting, record keeping and preparing accurate and timely financial statements.
“Getting people to listen about financial things in a group setting isn’t always easy. But Jennifer Foster not only made it interesting but fun,” said Catherine Masters, Executive Director of Women’s Horse Industry. “Her talk was so relaxed and easy that all of the attendees sat and listened and took notes. She took a lot of the mystery out of how people in the horse industry can become profitable. And, I know that many of them will realize that being in the horse industry can be profitable with the right financial management and planning.” Read more> http://www.horsesinthesouth.com/article/article_detail.aspx?id=8800
