Hermès US Jumping Team Eyes Victory in Rotterdam, Draws Seventh for Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup

Lexington, Ky. – The Hermès U.S. Jumping Team has traveled to The Netherlands this week for CSIO5* Rotterdam, held June 18-22. A team of veterans and rising stars, from the Hermès U.S. Show Jumping Short List for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, will look to repeat the American win from 2010 in Friday’s Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup presented by Longines.

Lucy Davis (Los Angeles, Calif.) makes her second appearance in Rotterdam’s Nations Cup with Old Oak Farm’s Barron, with whom she produced a double-clear effort in 2013. The 2012 recipient of the Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Trophy winner will look to display the form that earned her the victory in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Lausanne with Barron last September.

Jessica Springsteen (Colts Neck, N.J.), the recipient of the 2014 Maxine Beard Award, will ride Stone Hill Farm’s Vindicat W in the second spot for the Americans in Rotterdam’s Nations Cup. The pair finished third in the $500,000 FTI Consulting Finale Grand Prix in Wellington at the end of March before heading to Europe, where Springsteen had top placings at CSIO Lisbon and CSI Cannes.

In Rotterdam, Katie Dinan (Wellington, Fla.) will ride her 2013 Alltech $250,000 Grand Prix CSI-W 5* presented by Lifeforce Elite winner, Grant Road Partner LLC’s Nougat du Vallet. In April, the pair finished 15th at the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final in Lyon, France.

Lauren Hough (Wellington, Fla.), the team’s sole veteran of the winning effort in 2010, will return to Rotterdam Stadium this week in hopes of again leading the U.S. to a top podium position. Hough looks to produce a double-clear on Friday on The Ohlala Group’s Ohlala. The pair comes into Nations Cup competition after producing strong finishes in Mannheim and Wiesbaden in May and June.

Eight teams line up for Friday’s Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup presented by Longines, with the U.S. drawing seventh in the order. Nations Cup competition gets underway Friday at 4:00 pm CET (10:00 am ET).
