Gulf Coast Winter Classic Week III

  • Save
We finished our third week in Gulfport today and wow has time zoomed by.  As of today we are half way through our Winter Circuit in Gulfport and each week seems to be getting better and better and I know it’s because of the wonderful exhibitors we have showing this year.

Next week (week 4) is our Celebration of Hunters with our USHJA International Hunter Derby on the Grand Prix Field and we also will host the “County Party” on Friday night.  You would think after the incredible party that Domino’s Pizza hosted this week with the jungle theme and great band that nothing could be better but this one is always a favorite among exhibitors too.

This week the Gulf Coast Classic Company started with ShowNet and streaming video in  the Grand Prix Field and main hunter ring.  Watch your horse or just take a look at the wonderful Grand Prix Ring in Gulfport.

Again I want to thank a group of exhibitors who got together and sponsored what they called the National Hunter Classic Breakfast.  It’s held on Friday before the USHJA National Hunter Derby and this week was another giant success.  I am going to post pictures on our Classic Co Facebook page of this event.  Much thanks to Daniel and Cathy Geitner, Allison Black and Mark Tompkins, Fox Ridge Farm, Accolade Farm, Loretta Patterson, Spring Mill farm, Westminster, Summer Hill Farm, Laura Hightower, Jordan Sieget, Oakwell Farm, Equi-Feb, Chantilly Farm, The Jaeckle Center, Benny’s Wash and Fold, and Gamboa Veterinary Services. The exhibitors and management say THANKS.

Just a quick side note, I flew to NYC on Tuesday and saw War Horse at Lincoln Center. I have never seen anything like it in my life. 18 hand puppets that after a few minutes of watching just became horses. It was fantastic. I know it’s not going to run much longer in NY so if you get a chance, go see it.
