The snow has already made its debut in the northeast announcing that it is that time of year again when equestrians head south for some of the best showing in the country. And this year, many are starting their new year by heading to Gulf Coast Classic Company’s Pensacola shows.  Last year marked the debut of the inaugural Gulf Coast Classic at Pensacola, and word has it, it is the new favorite show destination that starts January 9 and runs through January 27.

The Pensacola shows are fun!  And, the footing is fabulous!  The footing at the Escambia Equestrian Center is customized by Classic Company with the equine athlete’s well-being in mind.  As a matter of fact, Classic Company travels to each of its shows and manages the footing prior to the start of the shows.  “We have a footing trailer, complete with tractors and an assortment of drags that we bring to all Classic Company and Gulf Coast Classic Shows,” commented Bob Bell, President of Classic Company.  “At times, we have even installed the footing, most recently in the new arena at the Charleston shows,” he added.

While the horses and riders enjoy the footing, everyone has a great time at the show.  Patty Foster of Rolling Acres Farm in Maryland recently reserved 32 stalls for the three weeks.  “My barn loves the Pensacola shows.  I can take my kids who have never done a show to Pensacola and they all have a great time.  It’s got a great location, the stalls are great, the camper area is really nice and the footing is super and all the rings are always dressed to impressed!” Foster added, “It’s so nice and Bob’s horse shows are always great.  Classic Company always has the sort of customer service where I can call and make changes to my schedule and they will do it, no problem.  Service with a smile all the time – they are so easy to deal with.”

The new “jewel” of the Gulf Coast Classic show series, the three weeks of Pensacola shows, offers exhibitors extensive class offerings as well as sizeable prize money.  The town of Pensacola does the rest.  Exhibitors and their families love the Gulf Coast Classic’s show’s close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico – not more than a 10 minute drive.  “This show may be the most convenient to an airport. It seriously takes no more than 25 minutes to get from the show grounds to the airport!” said Foster.  “This is perfect for my customers who fly in and out of Pensacola each week.  The town is only 10 minutes from the horse show and has awesome restaurants on the water. The old historic area on the waterfront is amazing.  Everything is so convenient – you can go to the beach, go shopping. The show and the area is just so user friendly!” she added.

Getting to the Pensacola shows could not be easier.  Considering the popular tourist destination, many airlines offer several flights to Pensacola.  And, it’s a great show to prepare horses and riders for the Gulf Coast Classic Shows in Gulfport, Mississippi that kick off February 6th.  “We enjoy offering our exhibitors a change of scenery and show grounds over the winter months.  But both facilities offer great stabling, footing and prize money.  And, the surrounding towns offer so much – the Gulf of Mexico, New Orleans, Biloxi – our exhibitors really love the opportunity to show and play all at one destination!” commented Bob  Bell, President of Classic Company.

“It is so exhibitor friendly – the exhibitor parties are just amazing!  Last winter they actually had a party bus pick all of us up from the campers and bring us to a great exhibitor party – which is a really great way to get my sister Mary Lisa to an exhibitor party! Bob and Janet pull out all the stops to make sure we are having a great time even though we’re there to show,” commented Foster.

The prize list is online and was already mailed. If you haven’t received a prize list, make sure to email info@classiccompany.com to receive one.  And remember, for your convenience, Equestrian Connect will accept your online entries.
