George Morris Prepares for Beverly Equestrian Center Clinic in Virginia

The Plains, VA – April 24, 2014 – George Morris will be making his mark in Virginia next week at the Beverly Equestrian Center in The Plains, VA. He will spend the weekend judging at Sweet Briar College, before traveling to the Beverly Equestrian Center to teach a three day clinic, April 29 – May 1, 2014. The legendary horseman and coach will be instilling the foundations of good horsemanship for riders and auditors.

After retiring as Chef d’Equipe of the United States Show Jumping Team, Morris has set his sights on developing the future of the sport by conducting clinics around the world. Focusing on helping riders develop correct form and function, Morris has often been referred to as the founding father of hunt seat equitation. Second to none, his teachings, technique and style are revered around the world. Over the course of his career, Morris has been highly successful as a rider, coach, clinician, author and judge.

“We are always thrilled to have George join us at the Beverly Equestrian Center,” noted Darrin Mollett. “The clinic brings together all of the best people in our area and beyond from multiple disciplines. It’s always really interesting to see how he teaches the different riders and horses. His method is the same and it works for all disciplines. All the riders and horses continue to improve throughout the clinic, which is fun to watch.”

While spots to participate as a rider in the clinic filled up immediately, auditor positions are still available to gain knowledge from the esteemed Morris through observation. A waiting list is also available for riders should other openings become available. Auditor spots are available for $75 per day. Snacks will be available for purchase, as will Morris’s book Hunter Seat Equitation, which he will be able to sign for anyone interested.

The daily clinic schedule will begin with the first group of advanced riders will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by intermediate riders at 11:30 a.m. The final group of beginner riders will commence at 2:00 p.m.
