Classic Company Closes Out Its 2014 Season

It’s a wrap! The Classic Company closed out its 2014 show calendar at the Atlanta Fall Classic yesterday at the Georgia International Horse Park, home of the 1996 Olympics. “We had a great show,” commented Classic Company President, Bob Bell.

Lisa Goldman of Hawthorne Woods definitely had a great show after securing wins in both the Week I and Week II Welcomes and the Week I $45,000 EMO Grand Prix. She closed out the two weeks as the fastest four-faulter in Saturday’s $45,000 Cedar Street Advisors Grand Prix, presented by EMO, and received a third place. Goldman also received the Kastel Denmark Style of Rider Award for the jumpers Week I during the championship presentation.

Jordan Coyne of New Port Ritchey, Florida rode her own Lazaro to win Saturday night’s $45,000 Cedar Street Advisors Grand Prix, presented by EMO under the lights in the Olympic Arena at the Georgia International Horse Park. Former Chef d’Equipe of the Canadian Olympic team and the 2015 Pan American Games Course Designer challenged the field of horses and riders with a course that only saw two go clear. Aaron Vale of Williston, Florida battled it out with Coyne leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Fridays celebrated the hunters and the Week I USHJA $2,500 Hunter Derby saw Matt Martin of Petersburg, Tennessee take the win and go back for seconds, in the irons of Wonder C, owned by Alliah Kassem and Ellie Kimmel’s Cooper, respectively. Week II offered the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, in addition to the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. Kat Chyrsostom’s Samba Sensation won the National Derby, ridden by up-and-coming talented fifteen-year-old Lindsey Ayres of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and Kelley Farmer of Keswick, Virginia took home the first place honors in the International Derby in the irons of Why, owned by DL Glefke and Kensey LLC. Kastel Denmark presented its Kastel Denmark Style of Riding Award to Liza Boyd and Week II’s recipient was Haley Gassel.

Week I was action packed and included the $25,000 Barry Lane Classics as well as the National Classic Equitation Championship Finals. The National Classic Equitation Finals was held under the covered arena and trainers and families enjoyed a complimentary buffet during the event. “We love producing the NCE Finals because of its focus on the up and coming talent in the show jumping world,” commented Bell.

Sponsors Cedar Street Advisors, EMO, Kastel Denmark and GGT Footing representatives all stopped by the horse show to watch some of the best in show jumping. Kastel Denmark, the Official Jacket of the Atlanta Fall Classics, also sponsored the wine during the Week I $45,000 EMO Grand Prix.

“Thank you to all of our exhibitors who made our Atlanta Fall Classic a success,” said Bob Bell, President of Classic Company. “We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did and we wish everyone safe travels a very happy Thanksgiving,” he added.
