Eirin Bruheim Wraps Up Winter Equestrian Festival with Top Results

Wellington, FL – April 3, 2015 – With a string of young horses, amateur rider Eirin Bruheim showcased the talent of Nordic Lights Farm throughout the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) with clear and consistent rounds in the show ring. Bruheim competed against Olympic Riders on some of the most complicated tracks of the circuit and continued her success right through to the very end.

During Week 9, the competitive 1.40m classes, having 110 entries did not intimidate Bruheim and NLF Favorite. The winning pair produced clear rounds in both the difficult $6,000 1.40 Speed Challenge and the $6, 000 1.40m, where they placed 8th. She not only rode NLF Favorite to the top, but Bruheim also left all rails up in the $34,000 1.45 class on NLF Billy On Show.

Among the 83 top riders that attempted the challenging $34,000 Ruby et Violette class of Week 10, Bruheim rode NLF Favorite to the stellar 19th position, allowing her to compete in the prestigious Grand Prix. She then went on to riding under the lights, in the toughest class offered, the $127,000 Horseware Ireland CSI 3* Grand Prix, where Bruheim respectively finished with just one rail down.

The impressive results continued for both NLF Newsflash and NLF Billy On Show. Bruheim beat some of the best riders in the country such as Eric Lamaze, Darragh Kenny, Lauren Hough and Rodrigo Pessoa, when she rode to the fourth place finish on NLF Newsflash, in the $6,000 1.40m class. On NLF Billy On Show, she impressively went clear in the difficult $34,000 FEI 1.45 Speed class during Week 11.

Even though the Winter Equestrian Festival has come to a close, Bruheim and her team will be heading into the Spring season on a high note, claiming top ribbons and producing numerous clear round. They will travel to Texas to rest before competing at the Old Salem Spring Horse Shows and the prestigious Spruce Meadows Tournament.

“The 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival was a good season for Nordic Lights Farm,” said Bruheim. “I had the opportunity to ride in the FEI events all winter long with my horses and they all performed superbly. NLF Newsflash dominated the Under 25 classes and stepped up to the FEI division the last week that he showed. All of my three horses have just dug in and preformed to their best. Even my young 5-year-old started showing a bit the last two weeks and jumped great for her first shows. Another young horse in training, Dora the Explorer, jumped great in the 7-year-old section. Now it’s back to Texas before the long trek up to Spruce Meadows and our summer/fall tour in Europe.”

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX that was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 23-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 20-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
