Wellington, FL (April 25, 2012) – Dr. Cesar Parra and his team at Piaffe Performance have found great success at the winter circuit dressage shows held at the Global Dressage Festival, giving Parra high hopes for the future with his horses and team. The Global Dressage Festival, a brand new world-class facility in Wellington offering more than $275,000 in prize money, has thrilled dressage riders around the world with a 2012 circuit complete with international and national shows.

Para competed Van The Man, a ten-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Michael and Sarah Davis, at the Global Dressage Festival Nations Cup National Show, ending with a score of 72.447% in the FEI Grand Prix and a 73.322% in the Olympic Grand Prix Special. “I am very pleased with Van the Man’s performance in the FEI Grand Prix and the Olympic Grand Prix Special. I am looking for Van The Man to build more confidence and continue to become increasingly comfortable in the ring,” Parra said. “His raw talent is incredible, scoring over 72% in Germany. Through each show he is evolving into the magnificent horse we envisioned when he came to our barn earlier this year.”

At a recent Global Dressage Festival show, Parra said he was thrilled with Van The Man’s ability to perform under stressful conditions. “We were competing and the judge stopped us midway through our ride, due to an accidental error in evaluating the wrong test. Van the Man showed great composure in continuing the test and still scoring a 69%. It shows the true athlete he is as few horses can rebound from a similar event, yet still manage to score respectably,” Parra said.

Parra is also excited about another new addition to his farm, a coming six-year-old Hanoverian gelding named Simply Nymphenburg. “Our ultimate goal is to bring Simply Nymphenburg to the World Equestrian Games for young horses.  He has gone above and beyond our expectations and I can’t begin to express the enjoyment I have had with him this season,” Parra said. “Simply Nymphenburg continues to show consistency with his work. He has one of the kindest temperaments that I have ever seen in a horse. It is an absolute enjoyment to ride a horse that wants to please his rider and thrives in showing as Simply Nymphenburg does.”

The Piaffe Performance team has also been competing at the Global Dressage Festival, showing an amazing depth of talent among the team members. “My team always amazes me. Every member has exhibited tremendous devotion to training and this dedication has not only led to personal bests and high scores, but it has also driven to train at the highest levels,” Parra said.  One of Piaffe Performance’s top riders, Kevin Kohmann, a native of Germany, rode for Team Europe during the GDF Nations Cup, helping them secure the Silver Medal aboard Klouseau.  The pair scored a 68.684% in the Prix St. Georges and a 70.825% in the Intermediaire I Freestyle.  Kohmann also competed in the National show at the Nations Cup, scoring a 70.8% in the Five-Year-Old test with Santeria SQF; Kohmann rode Weekend Pleasure to a 69.390% and a 69.756% in Third Level Test 2.

At the Global Dressage Festival CDI 5* West Palm Beach, Parra said it was a thrill for him to watch his team members Eduardo Munoz score a 76% on his mare Calidian Sun and Rick Jankura earn a high score of 79% on his mare Santeria. “Bebe Davis showed her pony, Poldy 10, in the FEI Pony tests and received a 75.98% for the Individual test which I believe is one of the highest scores in our nation in the pony divisions,” Para said. “In addition, Kevin Kohmann showed Santeria in the FEI 5 Year Olds and won with a 77.2%. Overall, everyone continues to improve as each show passes.”
