Damsey FRH Makes a Triumphant Return to Competition

Steffen Frahm and Damsey.

Dorum, Germany – May 22, 2015 – Damsey FRH is much admired as a breeding stallion, and his recent return to the competition arena proves he is a double threat. The 13-year-old Hanoverian (Dressage Royal-Ria Grande, Ritual) owned by Leatherdale Farms made a big impression at the May 1-3 horse festival in Redefin, Germany, where he took home victories in both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special.

The accomplished trainer Steffen Frahm, who was celebrating his birthday weekend, rode Damsey to a score of 73.33 percent in the Grand Prix Saturday, May 2. In a field of 25 horses, they came out on top by a comfortable margin.

The duo went on to earn an impressive 75 percent in the Grand Prix Special the following day, claiming the win by a margin of over three percentage points. The many highlights of Damsey’s performance in the Special included scores of 9.0 for the piaffe and 9.5 for the final halt and salute.

“The first time back after a long break is definitely always fun,” Frahm said with a smile.

With three outstanding gaits and tremendous athleticism, Damsey is an eye-catcher in the competition arena. His offspring bear his trademarks: top performance ability, exceptional conformation, and a kind, willing character.

Damsey stands alongside several other Leatherdale Farms stallions at Hengststation Jens Meyer in Dorum, Germany. He is the sire of several licensed stallions and state premium mares. Damsey’s daughter Diana C, an 8-year-old mare also owned by Leatherdale Farms, is currently competing at small tour in the United States and Canada under Diane Creech.
